Melia Iguazu Questions & Answers

We are due to arrive Feb 19th - when I look at their website no reservations are being taken from Feb 1, 2018 - 11/1/2018. Is the hotel being closed for renovations?

Thanks for your update - it's a more complete answer than I got from the hotel. I also checked the Belmond - but it's booked during the time period of our stay so we're just going to bite the bullet and stay at the Melia since we want to be in the park.

The earlier answer is interesting!

I had a reservation to stay here in April '18. We booked months ago when the hotel was owned by Sheraton and only recently found out about the renovations and change of ownership when asking about an airport pick-up.

The latest information I've received from the hotel on 4th January is:

"The start date of the works has been modified to Feb 19th we will start refurbishing rooms and pool area and since that date the outdoor pool will be out of order. As of 1st March we will start the refurbishment of the restaurant, bar, lobby area, kids club, etc. During this period breakfast, lunch and dinner will be offered at Adelantado Ballroom, located on the ground floor of our hotel. The working hours will be 8am to 6:30pm"

I think it's poor that the Melia Group aren't proactively warning guests of the disruption. We've therefore decided to book at the Belmond for the same cost rather than suffer the disruption.
