Gulati Questions & Answers

Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania

I will only be in Delhi for one meal. I'm staying near India Gate. Is this good enough for my memory of Delhi food? My husband and I would like the restaurant to be very nice but don't want to dress formal. And please let me know an idea of the price for an average meal.

Thanks!

Gulati would be a good choice for excellent North Indian food, including kababs and tandoori food. It is famous for its chicken dishes and kabab starters. It is very close to India Gate (on Pandara Road) and open for both lunch and dinner.

Prices, without alcoholic drinks, could be Rs 1000 per head (USD 15-20), though for a small group or a couple could be slightly more per head.

Near by India Gate there are lot of options where you can have good and authentic Indian food.

Gulati Restaurant (Pandara Road) is famous for its chicken and it is no doubt finger licking :)

Average cost at Gulati should not be more than Rs.1500 for 2 px.

Other options which serve best food in town (near to India Gate) -

1. Parikrama - The Revolving Restaurant

The restaurant is on top floor and it keeps revolving..you will get complete view of Connaught Place from top.

If going there, i will recommend reservation on phone as there is waiting time.

avg cost for 2 px - Rs.2500

2. Andhra Bhavan

If you want to eat typical South Indian food, this is the best place to go.

Cheap and best option with avg cost for 2 px Rs.500

My suggestion, either go

Parikrama - The Revolving Restaurant - Rating 4/5

or

Gulati Restaurant only for its non-veg - Rating 4/5

Near India Gate, you get ample options though Gulati is one of the famous one there.

If you want to move up to CP then you can get to eat any cuisine there.

Hi I think you have already got the answers. Regarding the dress codes:

Gulati & Parikrama - Anything would be OK and you should not feel awkward

Andhra Bhawan: Something semi formal should be good here.
