My wife and I are interested in snorkeling. Are there walking options fromCocolobo ? Do you supply snorkeling equipment or are there places close by that we could rent from? Would we need a car if we plan to stay 1 wk?

Hi!! Snorkeling from the Half Monn bay beach is an easy 5 minute walk or a skillful entry is available from the iron shore. There is no need to rent a car here as everything is walkable in West End and a water taxi is $3/pp to West Bay. I would suggest renting gear from the Marine Park or bring your own mask and snorkel. Hope to have you here soon!!

There is great snorkeling in walking distance of Cocolobo at Half Moon Bay and you can also walk to the end of town and snorkel in the Blue Channel.

Cocolobo has a small collection of gear but there are many places you can rent from including, I think, the Marine Park Office.

You don't want a car in West End. You can walk to many great restaurants or take a cab to further destinations if you want to. The hotel can help with that. If you just want to spend a relaxing week hanging out, eating, snorkeling and relaxing, Cocolobo is the place to go.

It's an easy walk from Cocolobo into town. My daughter and I walked the path many times (even late at night). From there you can rent a day or half-day of snorkeling from at least a dozen dive-shops. The beach in back of the hotel is also supposed to have good snorkeling. However, it would be a very rocky walk. The boats will take you to where the best snorkeling is. You could bring your own snorkeling equipment or rent. I like to bring my own because my mask is custom fitted. Actually, you don't need to rent a car. There is the small village with numerous shops to browse in and as mentioned is definitely within walking distance. That's also where the wonderful restaurants are also. We also hired a guide to take us to see French Hook Bay and the mangroves. Then on another day a driver took us to see the monkey preserve. We stayed 10 days and never missed not having a car.
