It looks like Macuco has docks on both the Brazilian and Argentinian sides. Do I have this right? Is there a reason to prefer the launch from one side over the other? Or launches from both side follow the same route?
The dock of Macuco is from Brazil side , i went twices and i loved , the one in Argentina park i never been , so i have no idea what routine they take but friend of mine do both then he said that he loved more Macuco way .
It will be completlu wet when you on the boat trip so for me ( wear bathing suit then change your clothing keep in the looker )
Dont forget bring your waterproof camera or waterproof bag for your phone , camera what ever .Because they will ride into the fall with imagine experience boat ride ..During the tour they will make video and picture .So if you have any idea that your will by the video ou pictures late , try to seat in the front the first or second row .Remember both ride your will be fun -wet i brought my tower and keep in the looker .
they sell the rain coast over ther also
Macuco is only in Brazil, Argentina has another operating company.
The circuits are different, the one in Argentina goes closer to the big water falls than the one in Brazil.
I only did the Brazilian one, and was awesome!! Have fun!
Just posting for informational purposes:
I did the Macuco Safari from the Brazilian side. Upon arrival at the boat dock, passengers are given a choice between wet or dry tours.
I was interested in photography, so I chose seco (dry) and had a boat + two guides to myself. We didn't go very far up the river and didn't even navigate into the San Martin Island channel. (The wet tour boats have to go to the far end of that channel to dip into the falls.)
It would have been nice to get closer to Devil's Throat or into the channel.
I only did the4 Brazilian side. Depending on the nationality of the tourist, rise varies because some will need a visa to get to the Argentinian side. You will have to check on that. Its an awesome activity and I would love to do it again if I have the chance. You will get totally soaked though so b prepared. Bring towels for drying, or even change of clothes if you're not on swimwear. They provide lockers for rent.
The rules are different for each side. And so are the routes depends on the driver if you get a good run or not
And who is in the boats. If Asian then it'll be better
Do both sides as you'll never come back probably and this was the best thing we did
The other traveller has it right. The Argentinian company has a different route and takes you into there area which I must say from a distance more interesting. Same goes for helicopter flights. They don't vere into the others space. The short helicopter fight was quite good though.
You will get totally soaked if you do it. Bathing suit and flip flops would be good to wear!
