If you have that limited time, I recommend Yangon. Shwedagon Pagoda is the one to start with, preferably few hours (3-4) from late afternoon to evening. I recommend to get a qualified guide to understand properly, who are easily available in affordable fees. Then downtown and nearby historical city side, independence memorial and surrounding area, Sule Pagoda and 2 nice lakes within Yangon are my recommendations. Try local food and if you like good gifts - precious stones and ornaments are famous.

There are so many things to see. Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon is a must for Myanmar people (they travel the whole

Country to experience it) so I count that as a top visit. Personally I love Botataung Pagoda - it is worth reading about the Buddha Hairs and history of both Pagodas before visiting. It is also worth a read about General Aung San (Father of Daw Aung Suu Kyi) and seeing some of the monuments to him. In the downtown area there are many old British buildings. A ride on the loop train with the locals is a wonderful experience. Bogyoke Markets have good quality souvenirs (bargain the prices). Visit a Pagoda outside of the main area. Buy a Longyi and wear it. Sit in a local tea shop and have a few cups of tea. Outside of Yangon - Mandalay and Bagan are two popular tourist destinations.

Don’t rush. Experience the people and you will experience Myanmar.

The Agoda App is great for finding places to stay.

If you want to experience Myanmar fully, then take a trip to Old Bagan after seeing Yangon. There are hundreds of beautiful pagodas to marvel at. And a sunset cruise along the Irawaddy is breathtaking as well. It's also balloon season now till April, so take advantage of that opportunity. Good luck and enjoy!

You'll need 2-3 WEEKS and that would not be enough time for Myanmar!

But with only a few days...if beautiful scenery, history and culture is what you're looking for...i would jump on a flight to Bagan from the domestic airport..the stunning temple towns! Rent a bike and go off-roading in the plains. Bagan is made of 3 towns so lots to see and explore!

dont bother w Yangon...the capital is a bit of a dumpy city...noting getting to and from the airport can be time-consuming. If you do have time...get an uber taxi (super cheap here) and see the big shewdagan pagoda.
