Can anybody provide me some helpful info, my flight arrives at night in Istanbul, from the Ataturk airport Im taking the metro to the last station Aksaray, as i've understood,

By the time I'm arriving at the Askaray station might be between 11pm and midnight,

Is it's safe to walk from the Aksaray railway station to the hotel? I've understood that it takes like 10 minutes to walk there, but I don't know if that's true,

I carry one luggage and a handbag,

Can I get lost? is the way easy to follow? I've got a copy of the map where the station is and some paths look like big avenues, so I'm puzzled!

I would appreciate the help that anybody can give me. Thanks

Hi, we also arrived late and it seemed to us that it is relatively safe to walk. The easiest way not to get lost, in my view, is go by the main street (with tram line) in the direction of the old town (i.e. continue to follow roughly the same direction as the sub, if it were to extend longer). When yoy go along the tram street you will pass under a bridge, and in a few minutes you will see Laleli mosque by the street. At the corner, turn left and go up Fatih street, on the next crossroads cross the street and turn left again, and then right - and there it should be, with not a big sign. We got lost a little bit with my wife when we first arrived.

I'd say it's quite easy to get lost in Istanbul in general, and the area near the Maya hotel is not an exception.

I consider this area as quite safe place.

As far as I remember there are some big avenues on the way, but they are not something comparable to London big avenues, traffic is not so intense anyway.

I hope my comment is of some help.

Enjoy your trip!
