I am wondering if one can do the Chobe Day trip and a helicopter flip later on the same day? What kind of itinerary is possible with a 2 night stay. Is the Chobe Day trip worth it?
The Chobe is a day trip and very worthwhile! You will see a river habitat with tons of great animal sightings.
I’m not sure if you *can* do both in a day, but I feel pretty confident saying you wouldn’t want to. Chobe is a must-see, but it’s best as an all-day affair with the river cruise in the morning and a Jeep Safari in the afternoon. You’ll spend about an hour to 90 minutes each way traveling plus whatever time it takes for customs at the border.
I do recommend doing both the Chobe trip and the helicopter tour of the falls of you have the opportunity.
The Chobe day trip involves about an hour's drive from Vic Falls, border crossing and then on to the reserve. Day trips usually include a boat safari in the morning, and a game drive in the afternoon. Well worth the trip for us as we saw loads of animals and birds.
It would be hard to get back in time for the helicopter flip (which is also not to be missed!!).
For a 2 night stay, depending on your arrival and departure times, you could do a helicopter flip on the afternoon of arrival, the Chobe trip the 2nd day, then a Falls tour on your last morning if you didn't get time to do it on your first day, before or after the flip.
Hi! It takes several hours to get to the Chobe park, so it is a whole day trip. I haven't taken this trip, but heard from other tourists that it was worth it, there were lots of different animals in the park. :)
