Georgia

Hi~ is there restaurants, shopping etc within walking distance from this hotel in Augusta? We will not have a car during our stay and wanted to be sure that we could access things on foot.

Thanks in advance!

I lived in Augusta for many years, now live in Florida. When we go to Augusta to visit which is frequently, we always stay at Riverwalk Marriott, for the beauty of the Riverwalk as well as the close proximity to many Restaurants. Here are the places that I would recommend in the downtown area within walking distance from the hotel: Frog Hollow (make reservations, it is always packed out, the food is farm to table and absolutely delicious!) Craft and Vine ( small plates, tapas) Bees Knees ( small plates and entree size) Pizza Joint ( great pizza, salads & sandwiches) Nacho Mamas mexican food. Farmhaus freshly ground burgers (all different kinds of meats). If you are staying through a weekend be sure to visit the Saturday Market for fresh baked bread, cheeses, tasty treats to enjoy while you stroll. Mellow Mushroom. A new place called Sole just opened as well. Luigi's great Italian food. Whiskey Bar Kitchen. Bee's Knee's just opened a sister restaurant right past the Bee's Knees featuring many craft beers and a wonderful menu! You can also visit the Morris Museum of Art located just across the street from the hotel. Augusta history Museum a short walk. Or take a canal tour from Enterprize Mill a short cab ride. Have fun on your stay in Augusta!

Hello and not really. Though it is considered downtown there isn't much variety for eating and shopping outside of the hotel. A car would be best as taxis/cabs are very costly. Possibly inquire directly about their shuttle service? Hope this helps!

The hotel is in a good area. If you exit the back door of the hotel you will be on 8th street where there are 2-3 restaurants and a wine bar, the Boll Weevil had amazing cakes & pies. One block over is the Cotton Patch, I had great cocktails and fried green tomatoes there, they also have like be jazz. A few block away (via taxi or uber) I had an outstanding meal at Thr Frog Hollow Tavern.

There are a few restaurants about a block away. The Main Street is approximately 6 blocks away so you could walk or take Uber.

I had thought downtown augusta would be a booming little historic district....not so...there are some shops.... there are historical engagement opportunities available. The best experience we had there was Frog Hollow Tavern for dinner. It was quaint...yet upscale...and at early evening is within walking distance....in evening / night - drive....Have fun!

There are restaurants inside and a number nearby. And although it's not a "tourist trap" feel, there are quite a few shops and other things of interest in easy walking distance. You may wish to google Augusta Riverwalk and use the resources there to plan some activities.
