Sheraton Poznan Hotel Questions & Answers

I will be on an extended stay in Poland, travelling in different regions and I will have a large suitcase with me. I will be travelling from Gdansk to Poznan in mid August and I am planning a train trip. What station do I arrive in? Is the hotel within walking distance from the train station? Is this hotel close enough to walk to small shops, restaurants?

Dear BO S,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

The Sheraton Poznan is located approximately 700 m from the Poznan main train station. You need to buy a ticket to and take off at Poznan Główny (it means "Poznan Main Station" in Polish). The easiest way to reach the hotel is by walking, by tram (no. 6 from Poznan Glowny tram stop, you need to take off at Baltyk stop - it's just a two-stops ride) or by taxi - it will take five minutes to reach the hotel door.

You can find most small restaurants, cafes and shops in the historic Old Town and on your way to it. It's a nice 20-minutes long stroll from the hotel. I'll have a chance to pass some of Poznan landmarks e.g. the Imperial Castle. You can also get there by taxi or choose a tram from Rondo Kaponiera (Kaponiera Roundabout). Don't worry about travelling around the city - our Front Office Associates will be happy to advise you on easiest ways to get wherever you want to and can recomment visiting some interesting places. You can also buy a tourist card with public transportation ticket at the hotel.

Last but not least, be sure to visit our SomePlace Else Pub for tex-mex dishes, burgers, steaks and fantastic cocktails.

If there's anything else we can assist you with, please don't hesitate to contact us back. Looking forward to welcoming you in Poznan!

Best regards

Poznan Glowny railway station to Sheraton: walkable distance (10 minutes maxi). Only one issue if you have a heavy luggage: stairs at the extremity of the platform.

The trains are not so slow and inefficient now. Frequent and comfortable trains between Poznan and Warsaw, with a max speed of 160 km/h. Duration of the trip: 3 hours.

Hi, you will arrive at Poznan railway station which is about a 5 minute walk from the Sheraton Hotel.Be aware, some of the trains have the old fashioned ladder type steps and can be quite difficult to access with heavy luggage! Restaurants are about a 10-15 minute walk away in the old square. A taxi to/ from the square costs about 20. There is also an excellent bar which serves very good food (recommend the burger!) within the hotel. Whilst you are travelling, why not include a stop off at Torun? It is very pretty and a little more in the way of local shops than Poznan. Take a nice stroll down to the river to watch the world go by whilst sipping a cold beer on one of the river barge bars! Enjoy your trip!

The hotel is within walking distance of the Main Poznan Railway Station. There are a small number of bars and cafes near the hotel and the station but a very short taxi or tram to the Town Centre where they abound.

As it is a small town..places are not very far off. The city center is a happening place;

  it is also a short taxi ride away.

The Sheraton Poznan is adjacent to the train station. It's absolutely walkable. You can walk to some shops and restaurants, but there isn't too much near the hotel. Albeit, most things are a short taxi ride.

Please be aware of construction next to this hotel which is very noisy.

Finally, please note that Polish trains can be painfully slow / inefficient. Make sure you do your homework first to see if this is the best means of travel for you.
