That is a very subjective question. In my view it is in an excellent location and the rooms are very well appointed. It is attached to the casino and there are many dining options at various price points. Their biggest asset is their staff even though it is a large hotel the staff are very attentive.
I personally think Crown Metropol is better.
It’s certainly one of the more expensive hotels, but I’m not sure that translates to making it the best. Don’t expect anything extra or personalised here, it’s just a room only.
Depends on what you are after. But I would say it’s in the top 3.
Beats the Sofitel because their rooms badly need renovation
There are a few absolutely fabulous hotels in Melbourne and this would be one of them. Choice would be based on your preferred architectural style. Crown towers is very modern, with spacious rooms and a great pool/spa located in the complex. There are a couple of other great hotels. If you like Art Deco, the Park Hyatt is beautiful, again with spacious rooms and a great pool/spa. Crown is in Southbank, an easy walk over the bridge across the Yarra to the CBD, with great restaurants nearby. The Park Hyatt is in East Melbourne, just off Spring Street and very close to the Paris end of Collins street and the trendy Flinders lane restaurants. Both would be about 300m to the free tram zone in the CBD, so both well located.
Not any more. Having stayed there recently, it has definately declined in service and luxury in my opinion. Can find better now in Melbourne I believe.
It's a good hotel and much better than Sofitel as another reviewer mentioned. we had a Jr Suite and it was very nice with a huge tub. The area has so much to offer from restaurants and bars to shops and even casinos....great spot. My husband is an Aussie and his local family recommended this as one of their favorites.
