Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii Questions & Answers

Dallas, Texas

You've touched on one of the questions I've had about this property.... Going around in circles on website trying to find an oceanfront suite on the Gold level. Does it exist? You said your suite was on a different floor.... but you still enjoyed the Gold Level amenities? Which suite was that, and what were your views? Thanks in advance......

The hotel website has a map of the resort.

The Gold level is located on the 6th floor of the North Tower and you need card key access for this floor. The lounge room is located on the east end of the North Tower closest to the lobby. The guest rooms are located on both sides of the tower either facing toward the pool area to the South or the golf course to the North w partial ocean views. I believe the rooms at the end of the tower directly facing the ocean are suite rooms as they seemed to have larger lanais.

Hi, good question. Our Ocean Front room was on the 5th floor, one floor below the Gold level. While I did not go up to the Gold Floor, it appeared from the outside that the rooms on the 6th floor were similar to the rooms on the floors below, which would suggest that there are Ocean Front rooms on the Gold Floor. The poster who suggested that there are no "Ocean Front" rooms above the ground floor is incorrect. All rooms that directly face the ocean are considered "Ocean Front" rooms. There are also Partial Ocean View, Ocean View and Deluxe Ocean View rooms.

The 6th floor is the "Gold" level floor. We were on the 4th floor and in room 2455. The 2 refers to the north tower (south is 1) and the second number is the floor you're on. The rooms on the very end of the towers are "oceanfront" and our room was the last one on the hallway before the doors to the oceanfront rooms. I would assume that the 6th floor has oceanfront, unless that space is used for the conceirge area for Gold customers. Not sure. You can't access the 6th floor without a room key in the elevator. If you want to be certain, just call the hotel and ask.

I was not on the Gold level, but I can tell you that room 1346 was superb. From inside the room we had a view of the pool area and grounds, but it was far enough away from the pool to avoid the noise associated with it. From the deck, (lanai) we could see the ocean perfectly. Oceanview does exist, and I would say the higher floors would be preferable. hope that helps, but if not I'll elaborate.

We had a one-br suite, and I'm not a Gold Level member. It was on the ground floor, and I don't remember the room number, but if you look at the hotel map, it's building 29, and the lower left hand corner, right on the ground floor.
