Grand Hotel Palace Rome Questions & Answers

Ranked #201 of 1,413 Hotels in Rome

Hi -- we have a reservation at this hotel for March 2015, using Marriott points from when this hotel was under the Marriott Rewards program. I'd like to have some confirmation from current management that our Marriott Platinum status will still be honored (we received an email from Marriott saying that it would, but I assume that those folks are no longer with the hotel?) -- and we will receive free breakfast and available room upgrades as we would have if the hotel were still in the Marriott program. Thanks for any reassurance you can provide :) Also -- are there any improvements planned for the hotel under the new ownership? Thanks!

Hi Melissa, we were there from October 11 th for about three nights. They made a whole production about the fact that this was the first day that they were no longer part of the Marriott group. We were not there under any Marriott program so I really cannot answer your question. We did get a room upgrade anyway and it was a pretty nice room except very little space to store clothing other than hanging space and of course unnecessary furniture like a dining table for four. Would rather have had the clothing storage. I would call the hotel directly. It is. Great location and while I disagree with the previous answer about the staff, they were not hopeless. Run by "beautiful people" who spend much time examining themselves in the mirror. Housekeeping staff great though, I do believe there is a real Marriott up the road also on Via Veneto.

My husband and I stayed there in August 2014 and we are Marriott members. I recently found out this is not longer part of the Marriott chain. It is a nice hotel and I loved the spa downstairs it is a great place to relax in the hot tub after a long day of walking around. There is a Marriott hotel right before you hit the park. If you walk out of the hotel make a left and walk up about three blocks towards the park. It's a beautiful area the breakfast at the Boscolo hotel is not good we tried it twice and ended up going else where if you go up the road to the right of walking out of the hotel they have great breakfast with coffee and OJ for $10 euro;s. There is another Boscolo hotel that is also up the road opposite the park. I do like where the Grand Palace and Marriott Hotels are located and would stay in this area again. Also, yes there is no draws to store your clothes so this was a bit challenging. Enjoy your trip.

We stayed there when it was not managed by Marriott last year and I, also a Platinum was treated just like at any Marriott owned and managed hotel. What I would suggest is that you call Marriott rewards and confirm, if they tell you they will treat you as a Platinum, they will and Marriott will be responsible for it!

When we stayed ther it was still a Marriott property and they honored my status and points. I suggest you contact them by phone to get your questions answered. It is an excellent property!

When I stayed there, it was still a Marriott property. I did receive points and they honored a $1000 Marriott gift card that I had. I was not aware that a change had taken place. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, so I am betting they will take good care of you!
