W Paris - Opera Questions & Answers

Ranked #423 of 1,821 Hotels in Paris
London, United Kingdom

Hi, love the look of this hotel and want to book it for our first time in Paris. Few questions however:

How far of a walk is this hotel from the main shopping centre?

Also out of curiosity how far of a walk is this hotel from district 1&2?

How much is it to order breakfast in bed if I've booked a room only deal

What is the area like? I've heard it's more of a business/serious like feel. Would it be recommended as a first timer in Paris

Many thanks on advance!

Hi, the hotel is literally across the road from Galeries Lafayette - the Harrods of Paris...

Districts 1&2 are like 12-15 min by foot...

Probably around EUR 30 per person - like in most of the European 5* hotels..

The area is very nice: you have the opera (hence the name of the hotel), the main iconic shopping centre of Paris... Place Vendome is like 10 min by foot.. The hotel has a slightly "kinky" style and would be very nice for couples...

I do recommend it

The W is in the 9th Arrondissement, but it's right next to the 1st, where the Louvre is. It's an easy walk there (10 mins?) and from there you can walk along the Seine. Paris doesn't have business areas like US cities do, so that isn't an issue.

There are lots of places to shop in Paris, but as someone mentioned, Galleries Lafayette is only a black away.

Room Service breakfast would be the same as in any major hotel.

On other advantage of the W is that you can take the Roissy bus from the airport and it stops right at the Opera. From there, the W is a couple of minutes walk on the other side of the building.

My opinion is that this is one of the best locations for a first timer in Paris.

It's a block from the famous department store Galleries Lafayette which has a fantastic rooftop cafe.

It's about a mile to the major Museums but only 50 yards to the several Metro stops which makes access to anything in Paris easy.

Don't know on breakfast but it's Paris so not inexpensive I'm sure

Lots of restaurants and stores nearby - I wouldn't describe as a business feel at all. Well trafficked at all times of day.

Hey there,

W Opera would be a perfect location if you intend to shop at Galeries Laffayette. Opera is majestic and the metro stop is convenient. For the first-timers though I would rather suggest Latin quarters or Le Marais areas to stay. Don't know about the breakfast there but the bar is awesome!;-)

The W opera is a perfect place for first time Paris I'm the middle of everything. No idea, who told you it is in a business district, but as the name says: opera - next to it. And two blocks from galleries Lafayette - we walked to Louvre, to Pompidou, to Champs Elysee etc from here.

Breakfast in bed is always not cheap. Around 40 with everything per person. There are plenty of coffee houses nearby to prevent u from such cost.

Department stores are only a few minutes walk. But of course there are many places. Paris is general a good place to walk around so shouldn't be too hard.

1e & 2e are both close by.

The area is great. Right next to the opera.

I love the area around Opéra Garnier, so for me it's the best location. You can walk to lots of places from there and you have the metro right outside of the hotel.
