Coming to Dublin for 2 nights in January, looking to stay here in the Clayton hotel but worried that it be to far for us to find nightlife. We are a young couple that will be looking for live music and a few restaurants bars. Could you tell me if this hotel will be ok and suitable for us to get to the temple bar
Hi it is about a 25 min walk into the centre but there is a bus stop just outside the hotel. There is a great couple of bars one is on the corner 2 mins walk and does have live music I beleive. Great care/ bistro across the road from that pub too.
It’s around a 15-20 min walk to grafton street. if your going to temple bar I would take a taxi which wouldn’t be too expensive.
It's not walking distance and there isn't really a nightlife very close to the hotel.
Get a taxi to temple bar it's only 10 euro max! Enjoy your trip.
only €7 by taxi
It’s a busy hotel a short bus ride into town. Or roughly e10 Taxi ride for 2 people. We attended a gig in Dublin while staying there.
I agree with the other comments that I've read. This is a nice hotel but not close to anything "social". If nightlife is your priority, you should probably stay closer in town.
We were just there in September and the hotel was very nice. However, if you want to be more convenient to night life, you might want to check further. My son and his wife were there last year and stayed at the Camden Court Hotel which was right beside a pub that they really liked: The Bleeding Horse. Very close by were lots of places to eat and shopping. If you go to Google maps, you can locate these places and "drive" down the streets and see what's there. This place was about 1 to 1 1/2 miles from our hotel. We walked everywhere before our tour started and didn't mind it. There was a highly-recommended restaurant about a block from Clayton Burlington and we wanted to go there but never had the opportunity. Breakfast bar at Clayton was great.
The hotel is not close to any nightlife, but there is a bus service that will take you to the Temple Bar area.
There are a few restaurants near by but little in the way of nightlife. You would be better off closer to Dublin.
I highly recommend the hotel, but your only option is to go right into Dublin to find some nightlife, given that the hotel is near the airport nothing really close. Not sure of distance into Dublin however but easy to find out. Hope this helps.
The Temple bar is a bit away from this hotel and I checked google maps and it looks like a 30 minute walk depending on traffic etc.
There should be local buses you can take close to the Temple bar which is located just southeast of the downtown core but still on the southside of the river.
You can ask reception what buses take you close to there so it will be cheaper. If you are only going there for one night only and are ok to spend a few dollars then a cab should cost around maybe 10-15 euros 1 way.
So to answer your question technically this hotel is a great hotel overall but a little pricey and far enough away if you don't want to walk or take a bus then no this place is not good for you. If you don't mind walking a distance then it will be fine or if you mind taking a cab then this place is fine too.
I hope this helps you and good luck.
