Sorry for the delay on getting back to you, I have tried to get a price for you but all taxi company just give a estimate cost of around £50 to £60. Just for info most of the ships that come in have a number of coaches on hand to transfer people to Glasgow Museums

We booked a Greenock taxi on line. It was on time and the driver was pleasant. With the short amount of time available to us this was a cost effective solution. Thanks for all of the input.

Sorry, I just saw this as well. I would think a taxi would be absorbant each way, could you look into train, coach or bus? I guess if you are spending the whole day/days in Glasgow it would be worth it but I know to take a taxi downtown to the airport (10 minutes? is about £15 and the other distance would be a 45 minute drive. The train would be great, then you could either get a taxi or do the 'hop on hop off' bus tour and the museum is on this route. Then, if other things interest you, in can be included. Have a great trip!

No idea but do agree with previous response. Get train to Glasgow and pay approx £15 for very good hop on off bus that stops immediately outside. Tour bus takes 85 minutes for circular tour and Museum is approx half way. Buses are every 10 minutes and seem to run to time.

Sorry no idea as we were in Glasgow. There is a good train service from Greenock to Glasgow central. The central station is right on George Square where the main stop for the hop on/off bus departs. You could then utilise that to get to the museum or simply take a taxi from the Glasgow Central. The hop on off bus is very good in terms of simply seeing the city itself.

Hi, I have checked with the taxi companies in Greenock, at the terminal, there is a taxi marshal who allocates taxis to passengers coming off the ships. For a standard saloon care the cost would be £35 ($47) or for a larger vehicle, £50 ($65) per hour. The journey would take about an hour each way plus you would require about three hours to appreciate the museum. The cost would be in the region of £175 ($191) or £250 ($329).

I hope this is of some use to you. Enjoy your visit to Bonnie Scotland.

Sorry can’t help with cost but distance is approx. 25 miles from Greenock and would take 45 mins. by car. Suggest you Google ‘Glasgow taxis’ and you should get lots of sites where you can maybe get a quote on line.
