I'm looking for a place to book a group of 70 year old ladies. They will need things to do in the area and want transportation like a shuttle or a bus as they don't want to have to rent a car. Would this place be a good one for them?
This is a great question and many good points covered by replies. We just finished a group reunion with the same demographics you have mentioned and the group had a wonderful time, as a matter of fact they are making reservations for next year to come back. Depending on the season that the activities take place is an important factor. In any case here at Basecamp we welcome everyone who really wants to explore and connect with Lake Tahoe.
Absolutely not. The hotel's name is self-explanatory : its suited for active crowd, skiers, trekkers and the like. For us It was a good place to sleep between days of skiing.
No, no, and no! Not a quiet place, and more of a younger, partying crowd. I'd look into the Lake Tahoe Resort hotel, used to be an Embassy Suites. Maybe not as nice as it was but better than most of the trash places in the area. Or for more money, but nicer, one of the Mariott resort properties. Don't think any place has shuttles there, everyone walks around.
