Hola!! My boyfriend and I are planning a trip to El Salvador in August. We want to know if y'all take tour trip anywhere to the ruins or other places? & are we able to bring a family member to visit us in our room? also if there is an arrangement that can be made for transportation to take us back to the airport? Please need to know this. Thanks!
Hello Vanessa M!
We offer transportation from the airport and a variety of tours with our Decameron Explorer Company, please call us to +503 2209-3000 for explain details.
We hope you soon!
Decameron El Salvador
The hotel is private no guess are allowed.
There are plenty of tours to take to see Mayan ruins. Decameron Explorer, the hotel's tour operator has an office off the main lobby and you can book a multitude of tours.
My suggestion is that you go to Guatemala first, and see the incredible Mayan heritage there, and then take the Decameron shuttle, right from Guatemala City to the resort in El Salvador. this is because Mayan ruins in Guatemala (Tikal and Yaxha for example) are more incredible than any ruins in El Salvador.
The drive from San Salvador to the resort is @1.5 hrs, so 2.5 hrs from Guatemala City is not a significant increase.
Hi Vanessa, yes there's tour buses to the ruins from the hotel, they are charged separately, you just have to look for their schedule and make your reservations.
There's shuttles to and from the airport you may want to arrange that before hand because once you are in the airport there's all kinds of taxis and shuttles that offer to take you, but I'd be very cautious about them.
As for visitor, yes, they can purchase a day pass and could enter the resort.
I found out lately that if you pay a bit more, not sure how much, you are able to enter earlier in the day and avoid the ridiculous craziness of entering the resort at 2 or 3 PM which is the time they say you can get in, I found that ridiculous and never seen it anywhere. I hope this helps.
Call roberto at whats app 503-7746-4951. He runs a very top quality private tour business. We hired him for 5 days and we saw all of El Salvador including many ruins.
This resort is intended for you to basically stay in the resort. I am not aware of any tours out to the ruins. The line to get in to the resort is long because you have to go through security and have your reservation checked before even getting to check in. I can't imagine leaving to a tour and having to go through that again. Lol Family members wanting to visit have to pay for a day pass like $40. That's really all I know. Hope it helps
I don't know the answer to other places to travel. We were at a convention so stayed only at the resort. You can arrange for transportation from the resort. They met us at the airport and took us back - very efficient and well done. Also, do not know about visitors.
