Can I book a room with a view through the TripAdvisor website, or is it better to do so through the hotel website?
We booked our room with a view through the hotel website and had no issues. The room was amazing. If the TripAdvisor site has the option for a "falls view" room then you should be able to get one and just follow up with the hotel.
I booked through the Marriott website then called to confirm that I was gettung the premier view room.
Hi, I stayed at this hotel in August and had no problem upgrading to a Falls view room (fantastic) when checking-in.
So unless you are travelling at a peak time busier than August, I would upgrade on check-in
It was also cheaper than the advertised price on their website
I’m sorry I don’t know the answer to that question. I booked mine directly with the hotel. I did that because I am a member of Marriott and it works best that way.
I did it through TripAdvisor
You can book either way. However, just note that when you book through trip advisor or a 3rd party website you don't get the "destination amenity" package which includes passes for the wego busses during your stay, sampling for wine or beer at their bar, beer sampling at Niagara brewery among other things. Booking through Marriott you pay the destination amenity fee for your stay anyways which includes the above mentioned things. If it doesn't matter to you, then book anywhere you like for a room with a view. Enjoy!
