I plan to visit Veracruz during Carnaval 2018. We are small family a toddler and an infant.
Did you find Veracruz safe? Do you recommend travel for a family with toddler and infant? Since we plan to go during carnaval which hotels would be best to stay, for festivities, parade etc.?
Recommendations are greatly appreciated!
We found Veracruz safe and we are both over 70. The hotel is right on the parade route, at least it was for at least one of them. View the parage from above the street on their second floor terrace overlooking the park.
Yes it's safe. Carnival is a zoo, book early. BTW, you do know the parade has float after float of scantily clad women and men.
I found the Gran Diligencias Hotel very safe. Not many English speakers in the city so learn some phrases before you go or get a good translator app. Veracruz was safe but I was not there during carnival. The hotel is across from the main plaza so it is handy with kids; it has a good outdoor pool on the 2nd floor. Go to the aquarium - excellent & reasonably priced.
