Hola gente, Is Uber safe enough for tourists?
Uber, hands down.
the metro is good but has many stairs and ramp's. with the air being much thinner at 6500 ft it was a little difficult to lug our luggage through it straight off the airplane . it is cheap at 5 pesos , clean, and on time . a taxi is also a cheap way but be very careful with where you find one and make sure it is a licensed cab . check the photo ID and price before getting into the cab. and do not get into one near a ATM machine or after you leave a bank. that is were the kidnap cabs lurk. we stayed in the center CDMX and walked to all these place when we were not in a tour we booked through Amigo tours. also many video are up on our you tube channel at travel addicts . look for a couple in the profile pic.***** youtube.C O M/c/traveladdicts
I like the metro. Just be aware of your surroundings, and if you are a female alone, try to get on the "female only" car. The metro goes EVERYWHERE, and is super cheap.
I agree with all the replies. Walking is great, safe and when in doubt Uber is the best deal in DF Enjoy your trip.
Ditto walking in Condessa is great, and Uber otherwise.
You can walk safely in this neighbourhood. If you want to venture further, the metro is an inexpensive option. The Map apps on your phone should tell you where the metro stations are located and how to get where you want to go. Otherwise, Uber is your best option. Make sure that you have the app on your phone and you will be all set. Have a good time and go to Coyacan, it's worth it.
