There has not been much info about what's happening on the islands. I hope all is well. What can you tell us about the status of the hotel? Trip scheduled 9/26
9/7/17 St.Thomas has major damage (Check news reports for updates). Even the 1 hospital in St. Thomas was evacuated because of catastrophic damage. I would push my plans back to later in the year or sometime early next year at the earliest if you want to go to St.Thomas. Even if the hotel is able to accommodate you the island will be in a recovery status for a long time.
Consider contacting the Marriott Renaissance Carambola St.Croix property directly (ask there conditions and operating status) and visiting there instead. Check again on status once Hurricane Jose passes this weekend. Keep in mind though that Hurricane season lasts until November in the Atlantic/Caribbean.
Keep in tuned with local VI news sources online and through social media (Virgin Islands Daily News, St.Thomas Source, St. Croix Source, St.John Source, and VI Consortium.
Hope this helps!
I agree with the previous response.
I know the main building of Frenchmans reef has storm shutter on all rooms and they have their own power system, but will you be able to get there??? The road from the airport runs along the water.
Doubtful if they could get the island into proper shape before your stay.
Suggest you call the hotel or Marriott for updates.
