Is it dangerous to dive there has anyone ever died
It's no more dangerous than diving anywhere. I'm not sure whether anyone has died at Bloody Bay Wall - unfortunately there are a number of diving and snorkelling related deaths in the Cayman Islands as a whole, but if you dive with a reputable company and follow all the usual safety procedures there should be no problem. I highly recommend Conch Club Divers - you really can't go wrong with these guys.
Sorry---just saw this, jimbomac.
Overall, diving is incredibly safe, so long as one follows standard dive protocol.
We heard of a couple of deaths: one diver secretly loaded her dive belt with weights and let herself sink---it was a planned suicide. The second was the result of a cardiac event.
Definitely worth the trip!
Sorry Jim. Just saw your question today. All the dive operations on all three of the Cayman Islands are fully licensed with professional. Instructors/Divemasters. Regarding how dangerous is the diving in LC, it's probably one of the safest diving destinations in the world. Most accident occur for two reasons :-
1) the stupidity of the said diver and
2) ill health. 99.9% of accidents/fatalities are from people with health issues either known or unknown to them. Paul
