We are really looking forward to a stay at the Foto Hotel in October and have an Ozone Room booked.
Does the room have an outside bathtub ?
Can you sunbathe in areas away from the pool ?
Any other tips/advice would be appreciated and thank you !!
Some Ozone rooms have tubs on the balcony whilst others have the tubs in the bathroom. It is best to e-mail a special request and request confirmation in writing of your room with preference of an outdoor tub. There are a selection of rooms which have access to a roof terrace and when I was there in Dec 2015 some roof terraces had large, round sunbathing beds with half-moon canopies for a bit of shade. A room with roof terrace access is again something you need to specify in your e-mail request. Otherwise you're limited to the pool area and surrounding sunbathing area as can be seen in the pool and restaurant photo gallery. It is hot and humid so although walking to Kata Beach is achievable the walk back to the hotel is steep and can be challenging if you're unfit. I'm not sure if the shuttle service has been changed to go to and from the beach more frequently but taxis can be arranged. The hotel will quote on the standard taxi cost. There are many taxis and tuk-tuk available along any stretch of road and you can barter with them. Always have notes in lower denominations. It helps during bartering. Paragliding at Kata Beach is not worth the spend for a 5 minute adventure while going tandem with the organizer's staff. Travel a little further north to Karon or Patong as their pricing is the same but you go solo and for a bit longer. Fantasea is also worth a visit. Hope this helps.
