This was my first cruise with Princess cruiselines. The Ruby Princess seemed rusty and in need of updates. The rooms were nice, but also looked dated. The average age of cruisers seemed over 70 years old. I was relieved that I had not brought my teens with me on this cruiseline. At 45, I often felt there were no activities and little entertainment. The activities and entertainment were very geared to up charging (casino, art, bingo, etc). Many of the shows were very cringeworthy. My 71 year old mother and I wished frequently that we were seated at the back so that we could have escaped without being noticed or disruptive from multiple shows. The worst part of the cruise was the food. The soft serve ice cream machine broke early in the cruise. They tried to use their stores of frozen ice cream, but quickly ran out and had undesirable flavors and sugar free options. Personally, I could not eat the pizza. We missed being seated at the same time and same table nightly in the main dining room. The crew did their best to accommodate this, but the standard has changed and you dont get the same table nightly. The water onboard the ship was especially atrocious in the dining room. One of my biggest complaints was the coffee. Yucky, instant coffee from spigots. The milk products onboard this ship.came out of plastic beef broth like containers and needed no refrigeration and tested awful. I drank my instant coffee black the entire week. It was so bad, I finally switched to green tea a day or two into the trip. I tried the paid for coffee option, and it wasnt any better. While that option is a brewed coffee, it is still made with the terrible "no refrigeration milk products". If you like the no refrigeration half and half pods, you will probably be happy. Personally, I despise them. Overall, most of the food was either adequate or awful. From rare hamburgers to shoe leather steak (overcooked, even when ordered medium). The buffet food was often the same as the main dining room. Strangely, we preferred the buffet as there were more options. Honestly, I didnt eat anything this cruise that was memorable as being wonderful. The 2 star rating was given because of the staff (it would have been 1 otherwise). We had a wonderful cabin steward. The crew worked very hard and were attentive. We also really loved roatan. We had trouble actually finding each other on the ship with the medallion. It wasn't that accurate. While I appreciated a free chat option in the app, it didnt make any noise notification and therefore wasnt very useful. We struggled with the app and had to even visit tech services to get it to be functional, and I am fairly tech savvy. I did room service several times. It was ok. Big critique was other than breakfast (via the paper method), you cant order ANY free drinks. Through the app, you cant order free coffee, tea, ice water, etc with your meal. So, not very practical to order room service when you have to head to a restaurant to get a drink anyway.

First time with Princess Cruises. Ship Ruby. I thoroughly enjoyed. Relaxing atmosphere. Great staff. My only complaint is the new accounting system. 3rd party charges were slow to credit to account. Major complaint is that your not informed during disembarkation if you have a business problem. I had called to check on my account, but didn't get the correct info over the phone. In line to exit and had to turn around to take care of it. With Debit credit cards, I didn't know. It was quite an to inconvenience. Other cruise lines inform you of discrepancies before you disembark. I would travel with them again. It was great to have complimentary room service. The laundromat is available for self service

Embarkation and disembarkation were both smooth and quick - the best we have had in 24 cruises. The ship is classic in style, well maintained and very clean. The food is the best we have had on a cruise and the staff was excellent. An older crowd than some other lines, it was good for us. Very few children, but the ship does not have a lot of venues geared to children. Drinks were great and the service was wonderful. Only room for improvement would be the production shows in the theater and more choices at the buffet. Dining room meals were outstanding. Cabin stewards Crisanto Luna and Juancho were the best we have ever had - remembered how we liked everything and constantly checking to see if they could do even more for us. Our Club Class dining waiters, Nino Paloma and Kevin Afuana provided service at a great pace and always had everything perfect. Suggest the Adagio Bar at the rear of the ship for you nightcap with Zin Din and Angela. It is a cozy, quiet spot (except when there is live music!) and they are so friendly, professional and went out of their way to make us feel special. Highly recommend this ship and staff for a pampered cruise!

While on our cruise to the Caribbean, my wife and I took some photos in their Premiere Studios on the ship. We purchased some photos for $540, and then decided on the last day of the cruise to cancel that order, per the contract. Princess Cruises, however, then commenced to charge our credit card for that full amount and sent us the photos which we had canceled. Even after two weeks and daily correspondence with the Photo Department, Princess Cruises Customer Relations, and their Accounting Department, they would not refund our money. I will not ever be taking another Princess Cruise! Their photo manager, Ms. Iva Kutija refused to honor our contract, and so we are currently in a legal battle with Princess Cruise Lines. Stay away from Princess Cruise Lines, and their parent company, Carnival Cruise lines, which we have also sailed with in the past.

This was the first time my husband and I have been on a Cruise. The Ruby Princess couldn’t have been more fun and relaxing! What an amazing experience. The food was so incredible but expect to gained 10lbs 😊 food everywhere all of the time. The Cruise director (Micca) was interject and comical. The shows were entertaining and funny. Lots to See We had a group of 12 (6 couples) and most nights we sat at the same table for dinner. It was nice to having such amazing waiters Angelo and Ajay they were so Attentive. This trip was the most relaxing trip that I have ever had, I will definitely do it again soon - Tammy & LD
