My wife and I cruise 2 sometimes 3 times a year. And I’ve always said Norwegian was my favorite cruise line. But this cruise was either over booked, or under staffed. Don’t get me wrong the employees that are here are great!! But they say free style cruising, except you need a reservation for everything or your waiting in long lines. There game shows they play which is my wife’s favorite part have been crammed into a main room that fits few. Our room was horrible with a capital H, loud noises banging avoid 8106.Food at buffet was subpar. Dining room was good. My biggest problem was the lie on our ports. They switched one, then canceled one all together which had the only excursion we cared about. It will be a very long while until we go back to Norwegian. Carnival is now gonna be our go to. Thanks…

Post covid cruise was slim pickings. Food choices entertainment and service were sub standard. Staff were run off their feet and very inexperienced. choices at the buffet were unappealing. Oshannohans had a basic menu that was good. Cagney and japanese restaurants were good but cagneys jumbo shrimp were definitely not jumbo. Ports were questionable since the long lines and timings of arrival were never well executed. No more Norwegian for us!…

We're not impressed with the entertainment onboard ships since the Covid outbreak. Other than that we really can't find any reason to suggest that a cruise on the Getaway would be anything less than excellent. The most notable thing that stands out is the service on the ship. They are very professional and go out of their way to make you happy in every area of the ship which we participated in or were otherwise exposed to. Our room was kept in amazing shape(thanks to Ruby on deck 13 aft). Pretty hard to walk by a staff member without them saying something friendly to us. My wife drives a mobility scooter and had no problems at all. The buffet food was really good. We have been on the Getaway twice now(19 days total) and have tried most of the restaurants. Some ships have just a few restaurants but this one has lots. Not a bad one in the bunch. George and the casino bar staff were particularly good at their job.(Said Hello pretty well every time I walked past). The service in the high end restaurants was over the top. Thanks to all on the Getaway. P.S. My wife left her walking cane in room 13908 on Feb 18th when we disembarked. Hopefully it went to lost and found as we will be back on the ship when it gets to Portugal in the fall.…

We have enjoyed many cruises before and our experience on this trip was no way close to a positive luxury cruise. This was our first time cruising with NCL. The boarding at New York was shambolic with queuing in the freezing cold for one hour plus. The ship itself was huge with unbearable noise levels and queuing for EVERYTHING. Service in the restaurants was slow; they often ran out of items of food; we frequently sent back soft drinks for being flat and/or tasteless. While dining it was quicker to pop out to bar ourselves for wine etc than to wait for servers to come back! Smoking permitted in casino, open space in centre of ship and strong smell of smoke permeated several floors. We also experienced more ship movement throughout ship than on any other cruise. Our ship bought shore excursion on St. Kitts was chaotic, no one seemed to be in charge or know where folk were meant to be. We spent six days at sea on this 12 day cruise with the stop at the Dominican Republic cancelled and several shore stops reduced to just a few hours. Significant delays in getting folk off ship at each destination further cutting into available shore time.! I am sure that NCL will be receiving many complaints about this particular cruise. We never spoke to anyone who was satisfied with the experience. The queues, noise levels, overall standards were not acceptable. We were told that in recent weeks/months NCL had sold off places on the cruise very cheaply to fill it up and that this resulted in a very busy cruise, with a very mixed customer/guest demographic. There were a few actual fights on this cruise!! Fights on a cruise…!! Who knew!? Had this been our first cruise we would NEVER book another cruise! In our experience, other Cruise companies do it all much better. We will never be back on a NCL cruise!…
