Oh my god where do I begin? OK let's start with a positive. So flew BA buisness class from LGW. Started to worry after we had booked it as it turned out to be a charter which led to searches that stated all sorts. The truth the flight and BA service were exactly the same as a normal BA Club world fligh minus the AVIOS which let's say is disappointing but not not a deal breaker. Still had access to lounge and everything else the same as normal BA club world. Then when we got off our flight in Barbados we boarded a bus (which we thought was to go to the terminal) took us straight to the ship!!!! I know unreal no airport hassles, fantastic!!! Took us to the boarding kiosk outside the ship where we got our boarding cards and went to our room. We have an Aurea stateroom with a large balcony (I say large we were expecting the usual 2 chairs and a table) it turns out we have the 2 chairs and a table but with the bonus of 2 longer behind it! Brilliant! I'd read the reviews, however all things are subjective so was boarding with an open mind. That's where the fun stops! We were in our cabin for around 18.30 ECT (4 hours behind Uk) So we sat sat and waited for our bags (great the lack of airport faff but at least you'd have your bags) after waiting an hour still nothing so my wife and I went out around the ship. Not overly impressed as I'm sure any seasoned traveler knows getting a shower and changed is one of the best things after any journey let alone long haul! Still we found the champagne bar and was pleased to see that Lanson black label was in the premium extra drinks package price so had a few of those and before you knew the fact were sat in our old traveling cloths left our mind. We then returned to our cabin to find 2 of our 3 checked bag's waiting at the door, just what you need after a long day!! My wife went off to find someone to make enquiries about this and from what only can be described as lots of people not having a clue managed to be taken to the deep underbelly of the ship where our missing case was sitting waiting! After such excitement and a long day we just bedded down for the night ready to take on the usual unpacking tasks in the morning. Then shortly after doors started slamming kids started screaming and the great nights sleep we had planned came to an end. The next day we got up and went to the Marketplace buffet for breakfast. I'll be honest the food wasn't bad and tasted better than it looked but it needs to be renamed the Cattlemarket as this is what it is with a free for all at the stations and tables. I then noticed that most of the customers where French and a quite a few Italian, I also noticed a lot of them sneezing, coughing. I then noticed that unlike other hotels and cruises prior to covid I might add were not standing around either handing out a spray of sanitizer on the way in to the restaurant or informing people to use the stations outside the restaurants, which was probably because the sanitizer stations were empty. You guessed after 3 days on-board I came down with a crap cold, then a dose of toilet lurgy! After spending 2 days in bed I then felt well enough to venture back out. My wife and I visited the champagne bar once again and asked for the Lanson we had been drinking when we first arrived. We weren't told they didn't have any Lanson but we were served some other Champagne that isn't even on their menu but a quick Google revealed it was £10 cheaper in the UK per bottle!! I wouldn't mind so much if it wasn't for the fact they didn't even apologise or explain they didn't have what we had asked for and were been given something different! Did they think we wouldn't notice? If you are going to try a stunt like that then at least leave it to the end of the night!!! Now anyone that has done a cruise or 2 before appreciates (I say appreciates, understands, is probably a better description) of the eating times, yes you can book early at 18.30 or late at 21 30 (other lines have different times) but then there's the pay extra concept of "anytime dining " come on people the clue is the title. However, MSC take this to whole new level, you can experience the "Anytime dining" only in one resteraunt or the afore mentioned "Cattle market buffet" I know if you used to cruises that having such a privilege means you can eat anywhere anytime but no not here! We went to Biscayne Bay buffet which we noticed wasn't anytime divining as I didn't want anything the Seashore reteraunt had to offer especially after having a bad tummy for 24 hours. We sat we qued we entered the restaurant shortly after 21.30 to be told "sorry your restaurant is the Seashore on deck 5" I said "yes but I didn't want anything on the menu there this evening" to be told " sorry All the tables here are booked" I may point out that this restaurant was fairly empty and no question behind us! I just had to turn to the waiter, service clarke whatever they want to call him and explain this was the worst cruise line I have ever set foot on and he would better off working elsewhere, he offered to take me to his manager who was already dealing with another unhappy customer and explained what is the point he will have heard this all before!!! So with the chronological state of events above and the fact that MSC pre cruise were such a nightmare to deal with and the fact their trips (only been on 1 before getting ill) was diabolical and over priced plus the fact they forgot to service the room one day despite several phone calls saying no one had been plus the fact they don't have all the drinks in all the bars but could quite easily walk next door to get what the customer wants and paid for plus the fact no one had clue where to send my wife when I was ill to get some medicines just shows what a useless bag of spanners MSC are. Wouldn't touch them with a barge pole in future. Stick to the ones that know how to look after customers and trust people who go to great lengths to write reviews like this We don't do it for fun we do it to warn YOU not to waste the thousands of pounds of hard earned cash we have!…

We chose MSC because of the departure port, the interesting itinerary, the long days in ports of call and value for money. Having done our research, we had realistic expectations about food, cabins and the on-board experience. We chose Bella balcony cabins and added a premium plus drinks package. Cabin (10142) had plenty of space, ample storage and a well apportioned balcony with an uninterrupted view. Our steward was discrete and efficient. Public areas - very impressive main atriun, plenty of bars around the ship. Variety of sun decks/pools. We were able to find loungers even during busy times, but were disappointed by some of our fellow guests who had a selfish approach to reserving loungers with towels/books then leaving them unoccupied for hours. Dining (main restaurant and buffet). Varied choices, including daily Caribbean options and other ethnic choices. Our experience was that food always arrived hot and was generally tasty and nutritious. Service was friendy and usually prompt (apart from one day when one of the team was absent). Bars (various). We had a good experience generally, with prompt service at tables and loungers. Some of the newer staff were not fully clued up on the coffee/cocktail options (from the bars) available under the different drinks packages. At peak times, in busy areas, service times were longer but in most cases acceptable and avoidable by ordering before our glasses were completely drained! Entertainment. Shows were OK, with a variety of performers, singers and dancers. However we felt that one or two were enough in a week, as they appeared to be a bit "samey". We entered a few quizzes which were fun, but did not use the premium entertainment (bowling, F1 simulator), as we felt these were overpriced. Shopping - we only bought a nasal congestion spray on board, but thought the range of stuff was OK if a little pricey. Guest services - some longish wait times at peak periods, but generally acceptable. Staff helpful and resolved all our requests/queries promptly. Other - the ship's photographers were a bit of a pain for us. They were ever-present during disembarkation at ports if call and slightly persistent even when told that we wouldn't be buying any photos. Excursions - we only booked one (St Kitts Railway and catamaran cruise). As with most cruise lines, MSC's excursions are much more expensive than equivalent trips with local companies. We hired cars at other ports of call and did our own thing. Overall - A great week's island hopping with our two friends. Our expectations had been set by other reviews and were for an "average" experience. MSC exceeded these in most departments and we had a good time on a comfortable, well equipped ship.…

Just returned from our long awaited cruise to the Caribbean, the sun was wonderful and first impressions the ship is magnificent, however what makes this ship special is the hard working staff, some in particular go over and above, not just for us but all guests, Marie who welcomed and seated guests in the Seaview restaurant was superb, welcoming, professional and so hard working, doing whatever was necessary to ensure guests were seated quickly and without fuss. Gusto and Sanjay were our waiters in the restaurant and again very professional, Sanjay also served us in the bar area and at the buffet restaurant, he was very friendly and always made an effort to say hello and ask how our day had been, unfortunately we didn’t get to say goodbye as we didn’t see him the last few days. The cruise was different to previous experiences and at first we couldn’t put our finger on what was missing but maybe one of the issues could have been that several stops we made were to larger islands and we felt this was to allow more passengers to board the ship and others to disembark, it felt like a very busy city hotel with lots of guests coming and going and some how the personal touch was lost. Also the atrium was very impressive, however again something was lost, the atrium was over 4 floors and artists/bands performed from a stage on the second level and although some were great, something was lost as they weren’t playing to any group but almost looking out at nobody, there was also no dance floor in this area, which would have been a bonus and a good gathering place to listen to live music. We enjoyed a few speciality meals and the food, service and staff were all superb, however Sumit Saha, who ran the bar was fabulous and was one of the reasons why we had return visits. Often he was on his own but he was always friendly, professional and provided a great service, with lovely cocktails 🍸 The ship is quite large and it was difficult to find a place we liked initially of an evening but eventually we settled on an early show (6:00pm), tea and then a wonder around the different venues ending in the Seaview bar, the staff here were fabulous, three in particular made a great team and were so well organised and professional and ensured everyone was served in a timely manor, even offering suggestions for cocktails during quieter times (Sanjay Pawar, Karunakar Sahu and Hansha), these staff went over and above and really made our holiday special. The spar is amazing and we had several visits as it was included in our package, we didn’t book any trips on board but arranged our own using local taxi’s and buses. We were very disappointed with our cabin as we had payed for what we thought was going to be something special, however it wasn’t and unfortunately guest relations were unhelpful. We had a fabulous holiday, but I’m don’t think we will be joining MSC again, we travelled with Princess the previous year and the experience was far superior.…

So. We are on the MSC divina 8 day cruise. Got a letter when we get to our room saying there will be some maintenance. Seems that meant that even though we charged you for a balcony we won’t give you one you can use. Paid for double upgrade to an unrestricted view. They’ve been taking it apart. Scraping it. Grinding it. Painting it. Leaving it unusable so far 4 days in. You’d thing they’d at least clean it up and put it back together each night. But, no. Their answer is leave the curtains shut. Management is TERRIBLE. Refuse to tell us when it will be done. Why they put us in a room they were doing this to. Or anything at this point. Just want to say we understand it’s an inconvenience and it’s out of our hands. Managers are dodging talking to anyone, and leaving it to the poor people behind the desk. Ridiculous. You’ve been warned.…
