SO...went on my 11th cruise, all Carnival ships, in December. This time on the Carnival Valor. In short, VERY nice ship, clean, crew and staff were AS ALWAYS amazing. Food was good (I STILL laugh when I read someone saying, "I couldn't find ANYTHING good to eat"....some people just enjoy finding something they can complain about, even if its as ridiculous as that), weather was great. Went to the Piano Bar twice which was SO much fun. Already booked to go back for number 12 in May, same ship.

Carnival offered us a last second deal that was to good to pass up. We had an inside accessible cabin which we need for my wife. Entertainment on the ship was good. The comedians at the Punchline comedy club was first rate. The food over all was excellent. The crew as a whole did an outstanding job, This was the second time on the Valor and it was just as good as the first time.

Decided to look last minute (2 weeks out) for a family spring break trip and found a great deal out of New Orleans on the Carnival Valor. Found three interior cabins side by side on the 10th deck and called Carnival directly to book as we were traveling with two adults and 4 kids( ages 11-18). For starters the customer service was outstanding when booking. Call answered within a minute, and not only arranged the cabins the way we wanted but saved me over $350 on top of the great deal we had found online. On the day to start the cruise it was literally only 15 minutes from being dropped off by the Uber driver to being on board the ship. This is even with the additional screening that was due to the worldwide virus outbreak and normal customs and security screenings. This was our third overall cruise and was literally the quickest boarding ever without even purchasing any expedited service. Once on board we found the crew very professional and extremely friendly. Everything was super clean and the crew seemed to work around the clock cleaning everything. Cabins on the 10th deck were extremely beneficial to accessing almost all activities/pools/bars and spa. Cabin steward kept room serviced and cleaned twice a day and responded quickly to every extra request made (extra towels, ice in the room at all times. bathrobes ect). Food at the restaurants was very good and could match almost any appetite with its selection. Bar drinks are not the water downed variety and in fact we found the drinks on board to be better than the drinks found on shore at the stops we made. For the adults in the group considering the Cheers Package that is offered it may be beneficial to purchase from Carnival even if you are not a huge drinker. It will pay for itself if you purchase of 5 mixed drinks a day on average. Also included with this package is unlimited sodas, specialty coffees( think of the type of drinks at the fancy coffee shops), milkshakes, smoothies and even bottled water. So even if your not getting 5 mixed drinks it can be beneficial. Excellent entertainment onboard and even recent movies being shown on in the evenings on the entertainment deck. Plenty of things to do for all ages. Value to the dollar is big for us. Six travelers (Mom,Dad and 4 kids) and this was a hit. Compared to what a beachfront condo would run for the week and groceries that I would have had to cook we got a three cabins (Mom and Dad with their personal space, two boys in another cabin and two girls in the third cabin) all the food everyone desired and all the drinks for all. Not having to cook or clean and getting to see some incredible sights that went beyond the normal beach experience was a big plus.

The food was terrible on this cruise. It was often cold and very tasteless. There was almost no food selection. The overall staff were rude. Our room steward told us that if we wanted wine glasses in our cabin, we had to get them ourselves. The cabin was small but very clean. The entertainment was not very good. It was average at best. We did enjoy our two shore excursions very much.
