I would like to file a major grievance against Carnival “The Dream” 14 day Panamanian cruise, October 22nd, 2023 through November 5th, 2023. In all my years of cruising with various cruise lines, this is by far the worst cruise I have ever been on. I was refunded only 20% of my original cruise fare of $5585.86 on that cruise. It should’ve been and should be much more. First, my balcony cabin was not clean. I found a dirty sock underneath the bed, which the cabinet steward removed, toenails on the floor, a drawer with candy wrappers in it, and the balcony was disgusting(see attached photo/video). Why you sold that cabin with that balcony in that condition, I’ll never understand. At this point, I knew I would be, and it was very uncomfortable in that cabinet for the remainder of the cruise. I didn’t like being in the cabin, and I was unable to eat in the cabin because I would think about that nasty sock and toenails that were found, and become nauseous. Definitely wasn’t comfortable sleeping in that bed. Your cabin experience is a very big part of the cruise, and that was totally ruined. The cabin was avoided until absolutely necessary to return.There was noise above me several nights of the cruise, it sounded like some type of construction, banging, thumbing, that sometimes woke you out of your sleep and I reported it. My ceiling was leaking water, I reported it and six hours later nothing was done. Of course, by then the leaking had stopped. Even the remote control for the TV didn’t work correctly, or you had to turn it upside down to control the channels and volume. Several members of the crew/staff, not all, were unpleasant, unknowledgeable, or didn’t speak or understand very good English. Standard of good customer service and courtesy seemed to be a lot lower/lacking on this ship. Not only me, but other family members had issues with the cleanliness of the cabins and the noise, among several other issues. Some of the common areas of the ship were not very clean. Our first night in timed dining was horrid. Our meals and drinks took an extremely long time. We had to ask several times about our drinks. I even asked one of the servers about a drink and he told me they didn’t have a particular soda for this drink and just blew me off(rude), not a good first impression.That server did apologize that following evening. Even the salt shakers at all the dining facilities didn’t work most of the time. Rice was put in the salt shakers. I have never been on a cruise were this has ever been a problem. The salt was wet. There was even a nat in my butter at dinner. Also your juices on the Lido deck were obviously watered down(unbelievable,sad). You couldn’t even get a straw on that ship, without purchasing metal ones. I know there are a lot of little things here. But when you add up everything that has occurred, it’s very significant. I plan to post a review on any and all available platforms, Google, Yelp etc., to include the attached video of balcony. I want my money refunded, if not all,most. The cruise experience was definitely not worth the money I paid. Also, I’m usually the one that’s hot. But on this cruise the climate was very,very cold, which made it very uncomfortable in most areas on the ship. If you’re not the right department I need to talk to you, please advise me who I need to speak with in the corporate office. Then on top of all this, a family member comes back positive for Covid. I know this is something you have no control over. My point is this trip was definitely not worth it. I want a refund. Lisa Johnson 254-415-2158

Guest services was friendly enough. Stateroom staff and dining room staff were very prompt, friendly and organized. The only place I felt like needed improvement was the Lido deck Guy's burger server's were rude. The pizza doesn't have Ceasar salad anymore. And you have to ask someone to clean tables. Overall Carnival does a great job.

I would like to talk about my cruise that I sailed with Carnival on 6/18/22 - 6/26/22. As a customer and a professional in sales and in healthcare, I understand that there are things that are beyond our control. However, I would like to inform you of the disappointment after disembarking the Carnival Dream. First off, booking with Carnival seemed pretty easy. You can either do it yourself or you can speak with a personal vacation planner, who by the way has expressed that if booking this way, you would be able to take advantage of the perks of crediting money back if the same cruise had a cheaper price, be able to change dinner/dining preferences, assist with room layout and really ask any and al questions clarifying the upcoming cruise. I may have emailed my PVP 2-5 times inquiring about covid protocol, the events for children, camp ocean, camp carnival, etc. I kept up regularly with the have fun be safe protocols as they were constantly changing due to health of the nation regarding Covid. One of the disappointments included cancelling the Seuss events that were scheduled and not allowing children under 5 to participate in Camp Ocean or camp carnival. Why? Because according to CDC guidelines, are not eligible to receive the vaccine. Big disappointment! But it was to protect the staff and all carnival cruisers aboard. Ok understood but HUGE disappointment and no incentives to the families that looked forward to this benefit. Second reason - Children who are not potty trained are not allowed the use of the splash pad, slide, or pool. There were SEVERAL times, where I was approached by the staff, asking if my son is potty trained. He is 2 and YES he is potty trained. And if he was not, why would he be able to? Because of Covid? How does any of that make any sense. And when one staff assumed he wasn’t, well, that just completely upsetting. He is trained. He speaks and he knows when he wants to eat, sleep, and use the bathroom. As I was keeping up with the have fun be safe protocols, one of the requirements were for the unvaccinated under age 5 was to be tested within 72-24 hours of embarkation, again on the day of sail, which would be provided at no cost. Nowhere on the have fun be safe protocol does it mention there will be a charge for Covid testing, whether symptomatic or not or for personal use It stated: • Irrespective of voyage length, antigen testing will be provided on a complimentary basis to children ages 2-4. Children ages 5-11 will be charged US$60 per person, and guests ages 12 and older will be charged US$150 per person on their onboard Sail & Sign account. Further if someone were in contact or symptomatic your protocols state: In the event guests are in close contact with or exposed to any guest or crew member who tests positive for COVID-19, or display any symptoms for a COVID-like illness during the cruise, they and their close contacts will be required to undergo additional testing and may be required to quarantine in their stateroom until our medical team determines it is safe for them to resume their cruise activities. Guests who are quarantined on board will receive a pro-rated future cruise credit equal to the number of days in quarantine. I asked for my children under 5 to get tested. I never told anyone that my children were sick or not feeling well. I had asked the front desk prior to if covid testing was needed for Nassaus Bahamas and he wasn’t sure but heard from a cruiser it is not. To confirm this I looked on the Atlantis website which stated: Atlantis Bahamas Website: UNVACCINATED TRAVELERS • All unvaccinated travelers ages 2 and older will be required to obtain a negative COVID-19 test — either a negative RT-PCR test or a Rapid Antigen test — taken no more than three days (72 hours) prior to travel and present the negative test results at check-in before travel to The Bahamas. This was my very reason for obtaining it. Due to the miscommunication, really on everyone, I lost 4 hours of missed time in the Atlantis, I paid $300 to get the test results from the physician because she said that was the charge and further told me they will need to be retested within 24 hours for an extra $300 (which did not occur by the way) and that was the only time I can get off. What is even more frustrating is even AFTER all that and her EMPHASIS on strict COVID protocols, tell me WHY, when it came to disembark the ship for Galveston, children under 5 had to retest to get off the ship and masks required during time of test. But wait…My 4 year old was the only child required to test and NOT by 2 year old? What kind of strict protocol is this? And lastly, which, you may want to check with your staff. If I as a cruiser am unhappy, I can only imagine what that says for your staff. They are unhappy. There were 8-10 of them who were talking about their contracts and how unhappy they are on this ship.

The lack of good service on this cruise was ridiculous! Workers pushing carts would plow you down if you didn’t get out of the way! Who ever shouted the loudest got served next at bars because there was no orderly que. The much-marketed Guy Fieri BBQ restaurant was closed most of the days of our cruise. The food in the buffet was horrible…it was over cooked or undercooked, meat or chicken was dry. There was little to no Gluten Free options and staff was not educated about GF. Items were labeled “Gluten Free” but they were obviously contaminated because my wife suffered for two weeks after the cruise. (My wife has celiac disease). The expensive alcoholic drinks had little to no alcohol…a real ripoff. DO NOT BUY THE BEVERAGE PLAN!!! We had a beverage plan and you had to go to one of the BARS to get a beverage…and that meant waiting in no organized line to get a beverage. When you finally got the attention of a bartender they seemed putout by having to get you a “free” soft drink that was part of the beverage package. In addition, there was NO place to get a soft drink in the large Buffet restaurant!!! Again you had to go way outside the restaurant to find one of the bars! [I requested a refund from Carnival but they didn’t care…they said “beverage plans aren’t refundable once ship sails”.] DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON AN INTERNET PLAN!! We purchased an internet plan just to stay on top of our emails and news. It only worked about 20% of the time at best! And when you did get connected it was very slow! We even took our devices to Guest Services and they couldn’t figure anything out. [I must tell you that Carnival did refund the price of the internet package after I wrote two emails and threatened legal action…but don’t waste your time] On the only positive note, I will say that our Cabin Attendant was great! Just enough interaction to help us with anything we needed! And he was always available when we had to call him. There are WAY too many excellent cruise lines operating so we won’t ever be using Carnival again!

My daughter treated me to a cruise on the Carnival Dream Dec 12 - 18 to the Caribbean with stops at Costa Maya Mexico, Belize and Cozumel. It was such a great cruise with so many things to do on the ship that was beautifully decorated for Christmas. We were greeted by a very tall Christmas tree as we entered the ship. All of the ship was so festive with the Christmas decorations! Shopping in the Ports was a lot of fun, I even got the opportunity to bargain with one of the shop owners on a pretty solitaire ring. His starting price was $450. And I ended up getting it for $80, that made my day!! Food in the ports was delicious and authentic, not the Tex-Mex we were accustomed to. Of all the ports I believe I enjoyed Cozumel most. There were many shops and a wonderful place to eat called Pancho’s Backyard. We were seated outside in a covered, open air dining room with a Marimba Band just across the way to serenade us. The food was delicious and we enjoyed every bite! The day was warm and sunny but the breeze made it feel very comfortable. It was a wonderful day I will never forget!
