Just returned from cruise with my daughter's family. Cabins are good size, meals were very good, and staff is excellent! Our waiter, Imade, in the Blush was most attentive and there for our every need! Ardi, our steward was so helpful and kept our room great! We had an adjoining balcony and really enjoyed that. Thanks for the fun!!!

To be honest, I did not have high expectations after reading a number of average and/or bad reviews. However, I was pleasantly surprised with our trip. We had a blast. The positives: - The crew was exceptional. They addressed us by name every time we ate or passed eachother in the hall. - The entertainment. They did a very good job of making sure there was some sort of entertainment every 15 minutes of the day. Mini golf, party deck, bingo, casino, and waterslides were also a blast. - Getting on and off the boat. It was so smooth and simple. "Waiting in line" took no more than a few minutes. - The food. It really wasn't bad at all. We tried the steakhouse, the Italian restaurant, the burger joint, taco stand, and regular dining. I really have no complaints. Sure there might have been a few items that didn't look appetizing but there were so many options. I'd give their food 8 out of 10. The negatives: - The drink package doesn't start until day two. They add automatic gratuity to every drink. - The cabins are outdated for sure. They do need to upgrade the boat but you're not there to stay in your cabin anyway so I guess it doesn't matter all that much. The beds were surprisingly comfy as well. - The elevators. Takes forever. We found ourselves walking the stairs more often than not. - Some clientele. There was a gentleman with an ankle monitor on his leg. Plain as day walking around. I'm not sure what crime he committed but

This was only my second cruise, my last in 2012 on Breeze's sister ship Magic. A lot has happened in 11 years, and with it came changes and the inevitable perils of age. I'm really on the line between a rating of 3 and 4 circles, but the trip has a great, upbeat vibe, which blunts the downsides. To start, the staff were wonderful. Everyone from the cabin steward, to the bartenders, the waitstaff, and even the guy who picked up trash from the upper decks, were attentive and hard-working. They did look run ragged but tried hard to hide it. Carnival needs to up there staffing levels, because there is no way that a single person can man the Serenity bar 10 hours a day, 7 days a week. We had a spa room that came with the added benefit of unlimited access to the thermal suite, consisting of a whirlpool and several steam rooms. The staff were always quick to check us in. The physical plant was lacking in some places, though -- the rainfall shower had a non-working temperature control, and the buttons to release aroma into the steam rooms did nothing. There also were some rust spots on the beams in the whirlpool room, and an unused pipe that just kind loomed over one wall of the pool. It's just the little things that could crimp an otherwise relaxing experience. Our balcony stateroom was comfortable and clean. There was plenty of room for two people and adequate storage space. We slept well in the bed, which was made daily by our room steward. Because Carnival is known for its "fun ships," entertainment abounded. Live musicians performed throughout the day all over the ship, which was a nice touch. We took in one of the stage shows and it was... meh. The ensemble was small for a song-and-dance revue and the choreography was uninspired. We took in a PG-rated comedy show one night, and it was hilarious. The food in the main dining room was nothing like what I remembered from 11 years ago (but I've slept since then, so...). I'd say it generally was around the quality of a bland Denny's, maybe Chili's. There also were no tablecloths, which took away from some of the sense of special-ness that comes with eating a sit-down dinner on a cruise. Waiters were attentive and actually knew how to open a bottle of wine without wrecking the cork. Otherwise, MDR dinners were unremarkable. We ate at the additional-fee steakhouse one night. The appetizers and sides were a step up in ingredient quality and presentation from what was served in the main dining room. If I had to guess, my steak cut would have been a lower-end Choice grade and was cooked properly. Overall, the food was about Texas Roadhouse quality, in a quieter environment than the MDR. You're paying as much for the intimate setting as the food. I probably wouldn't spring for it again, but it was a nice experience. One issue that I keep seeing in the recent reviews is the clientele. Keep in mind Breeze runs short itineraries from Galveston to Cozumel and, sometimes, another Yucatan port -- otherwise known as a "booze cruise." Some people got a little loud, and rowdy, and totally wasted. Just expect it and roll with it. The ship is huge, and the party is centered around the pools on Deck 10. That leaves the entire rest of the ship to clutch your pearls while others have fun. For what it's worth, I spent both my sea days completely sober, chilling on the adults-only Serenity deck, and never saw a fight or had an issue with anyone. I generally received good value for what I paid, but I feel like I wasted my money on Faster to the Fun. It saved us maybe 3 minutes during embarkation and maybe 10 or 15 minutes on disembarkation. Both processes ran relatively well and "priority" just wasn't a benefit. It may have been good to have if I needed to speak with Guest Services or if we had a tender port, but neither of those were the case. Both of these processes ran smoothly during our trip. Overall I had fun, but the understaffing and a ship that's looking a little dated put a dent in the experience.

Hello, This was our first cruise and very disappointing.  We had heard about the great food, entertainment, events, accommodations on other cruises.  However, this cruise apparently was a discount cruise for many uncivilized guests. We paid full price but learned from other guests that they paid $100 which appeared to attract a less than favorable crowd. There were groups of young adults that constantly ran the ship with louds attention seeking behavior.  One even ranted obscenities and  profanities while twirling a towel and hit my friend in the back of her head. I reported to a staff member nearby and nothing was said to the group to deter their behavior.   Young teens without adult supervision flooded adult spots and ruined the experience.  They interrupted events and never left the hot tubs. Teens ages 12-16 also ran the halls from 2-3AM knocking on cabin doors and running shouting obscenities/profanities. We went to bed around 1AM each evening so that made it difficultgettinga goodnight's rest as we are early 6-7AM risers. This happened on two nights interrupting sleep.  We are all for children enjoying themselves but there are boundaries in which the parents need to respect in respecting other guests.   The food was mediocre and not fresh.  Learned to just order a burger the last two days.  We requested an extension cord and finally received on the 4th request. Asked the onshore rep for onshore buying materials and she gave us an appointment and stood us up.  No one could assist as she had all materials.  There was no glad you are here, we are here to serve you feeling.  The staff cleaning tables were more friendly and at least smiled on occasion. Didn't bother to request any additional accommodations afterwards.   The theactrical entertainment and cruise directory Lawrence were first class! Amazing! They were the 2 stars of our rating.   Sincerely  Mathews
