We stayed as a family of 4 (Parents, Teen, Toddler) in 2 cabins in March 2023. One cabin was an ocean view (deck 3) the other a 'spacious' ocean view (deck 9) which was actually overlooking the bow of the ship. The Cabins - Per Royal Caribbean standards, they cabins were quite good. The beds were not the best, but they never are on a cruise ship, but the storage, state of repair, water pressure, all good.... sitting areas in both rooms were nice, with desks, small couches, and a large (but largely empty) extra space in the one room overlooking the bow. The single armchair allowed a person to enjoy the view. (though It should be noted, you end up just watching the staff smoke and sit on their phones some of the time lol) The ship amenities were quite good. Lots of techy gimmicks and fun things.. the robot bartenders are fun to watch, but slow, and dominated by kids ordering never ending strings of juice to watch the robots go... The '270' theatre with it's back wall projection and robotic moving screens was really something. I do recommend taking in a show there, if for no other reason to see the technology in play. If you like that sort of thing... The premium items like the north star, and ifly were quick, but really fun options for those that want to splurge a little. The food in the main dining room was quite good, though not what I remember from pre pandemic cruises. We only dined at the Izumi specialty restaurant, and it was quite good, espeically if you like novel rolls. Snacks and treats were plentiful of course. For teens, the 'plex' area with bumper cars, xbox area, arcade, and games was excellent. The one notable shortcoming was for toddlers. most of the 'family' activities were at times when little ones nap or have their dinners... and the library, normally full of games and books, was pathetic. Not a single book for kids and the games: 1 checkers, 1 chess, and some mixed up puzzles. In short, if your family are all 10 and up, this ship offers TONS to do and see. For those under that, be sure to bring some books and games to keep little ones busy yourself for times between family events/kids club hours.

We brought our large family on board as a Christmas gift. Sailed March 12-19, 2023. We booked our dining for Anytime, confirmed booking at 6:30 pm each night. As soon as I was on board, I visited the American Icon dining room. They had no reservation for us for any of the nights, even though I had a written confirmation with each family member printed and also on each of our accounts on the RC app. Promised they would fix it. 1st night - stood arguing for over an hour, all of us, ended up getting us a table. Same thing happened the 2nd night. This time I went to the Maitre D - Maciek. He said "no problem, come to me and I will make sure you get this same table and waters each night". That NEVER happened. Each of the 7 nights, We had to stand around, off to the side to figure out where to put us. Ended up for the final 4 nights, we sat at separate tables from our grandchildren, who sat alone, final night ended up in the Windjammer. This has happened to us several times on board RC. We are Diamond Plus members. I know how to confirm a reservation. They did NOTHING to accommodate us. I also went to guest services and the Loyalty department to ask for help. Nothing was done. It truly spoiled the dining for us, which is a major part of why we cruise. We booked this ship particularly as the kids love the I-fly. Find out after boarding, you have to pay $19 US each for 1 minute! The North Star - they also charge $19 each. We were shocked. What cruise line charges you to use anything on board, unless its a private lesson. They didn't offer a complimentary minute, but only to find out, had to be booked months ago. No one ever told us that. The free sessions were booked solid and only paid rides left. Never heard of such a policy! I hope this isnt the start of RC charging for water slides, etc. on the other ships. We stood in line at Bolero's lounge, the 1st day to make reservations at the Spectra Cabert for all of us. We arrived the night of the show - no reservation for us. Another argument at the entrance to get us all in. Meanwhile, it was half empty. WHAT IN THE WORLD IS GOING ON RC? There were 4180 passengers on board, sold out. 760 crew. There was no staff around. For example the Oasis has 5400 passengers and 2700 crew. Celebrity Beyond 3046 passengers, 1271 crew. What happened to all the crew aboard the Anthem? Minimal bar servers at the pool. The dining staff was run off their feet. The service definitely shows the lack of crew. Not their fault. Will never book the Anthem again. Get your act together when we spend 2 hours booking and confirming our dining reservations and you don't honour them? So frustrating!

The number of issues we experienced on our cruise made the trip not enjoyable for us. We have sailed with Royal Caribbean (RC) before and had a much better experience in the past. First, there was an issue with the engine, causing us to lose our day in Cape Canaveral. While RC gave us a small refund for that day, we took a financial loss due to having non-refundable tickets at a theme park. Next, we purchased internet for 3 devices and we hardly ever were able to access the internet during our entire cruise. We received only a partial refund on that. Our excursion to Blue Lagoon on the Nassau day was cut short by 2 hours. Also, one of the waiters gave my family a hard time about ordering 2 entrees. One time, he didn’t even bring the second entrée at all. While having a couples massage, I told the woman numerous times not to touch my head, as I was wearing an expensive hair piece. She kept touching it with oil despite my request and damaged the hair piece. While RC offered a partial refund, I will have to pay more in damages to have it repaired. We also had a terrible experience with the people in the cabin next to us. While RC handled the issue of them smoking in their room, they continued to harass us and I had to file an official complaint. Even after the complaint, they continued to slam doors and yell obscenities through the wall at my family. Overall, it was just one issue after another and we will seriously reconsider ever booking another cruise with RC.

To: royalcustomerserviceuk@rccl.com Subject: Reservation. No. 2842643 Dear Customer Services. I am writing to you with regard to a complaint that I wish to make regarding my booking which was made on Sunday 5th March 2024. My husband and I have always wanted to go on a cruise and after saving very hard we decided to go ahead and book with Royal Caribbean as we had heard such good reviews and positive feedback regarding your cruises. With hardly any knowledge regarding booking etc. we booked a stateroom with a balcony and thought that would be fine and we were very much looking forward to our wonderful cruising experience in 2024.... We then received an email stating that the state room we had been allocated was on Deck 6 with a restricted 50% view. After looking further into this we discovered that in fact Deck 6 is apparently very noisy and as my husband is a light sleeper we were as you can imagine rather alarmed by this and also our cruise experience was becoming not so enjoyable after all. I phoned your customer service dept with the expectation that I would receive a friendly and accommodating response to my request and spoke with Kingberlyn Reyes who seemed very dis-interested in whatever I had to say and I asked if you would be able to perhaps move us to another deck and proceeded to explain the reason for this. I was categorically told that NO it was not possible to move us even as a good will gesture and that in order to move rooms we would have to pay an upgrade fee of £853. I was so disappointed with this and as the cruise is not for another year away cannot quite work out why my request could not be possible at this time. We have now decided because of the experience we have received so far to go ahead and cancel our lifetime dream cruise and as as a further insult have also been charged £198 cancellation fee! I would appreciate a response regarding this matter and if there is any way we can rectify this. Mr and Mrs Mullins

I could not believe how Royal Caribbean treat their staff. It repulsed me. I overheard a conversation of whom was tagged “dance captain” and the way they spoke about their fellow employees was disgraceful.
