- muzique1960Woodridge, IL359 contributionsGreat place to go for a walk in any time of the year. There are different things to see, depending on where you walk, and the paths are well-maintained.Written 1 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ilBuckeyeArlington Heights, IL267 contributionsHad a great visit here with our family. They have a few interesting indoor exhibits highlighting Naperville history. The rest is a large outdoor park complex with a number of historical 1800 era buildings that have been moved and built. Many are staffed with period characters giving you details on that particular building - there were 3 open on the Tuesday we visited.
This if free to Naperville residents. You may be able to get half off passes at your local Illinois library also. The large Pine Craig mansion is typically only open at 3PM, be sure to check the schedule when planning your trip.Written 5 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I would suggest you bring a extra pair of clothes if you do not live close.Written 12 March 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - James AWindsor, Canada18,742 contributionsNaperville is it’s own township but let’s be honest, it’s a Chicago suburb like Aurora or Oak Brook or Bolingbrook. This ‘downtown’ was nice but it’s not a city. It’s a municipality that runs itself but feeds off the economy of the Windy City yo it’s east. A nice place to spend part of the day which will be in include a visit to Starbucks Reserve and the Apple store. That’s what you’ll be doing in Naperville.Written 22 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Previa1994Chicago, IL6,377 contributionsI rode my bike and hiked on the trails in Springbrook Prairie Forest Preserve in Naperville in August. The trails are wonderful running through prairieland vegetation. No shade is to be expected most of the way. The place was chirping with variety of grassland birds and lots of rabbits were on the trails. A model craft field is also available at the Plainfield Road parking lot. The prairie was abloom with a variety of colorful flowers.
The main attraction is an approximately 5.5 mile loop trail (Springbrook Prairie Trail). There is also a one mile trail (Sunflower Trail) which serves as access path from Modaff Road. These two trails are very smoothly paved with crushed stone and biking is permitted on these two trails. There is also a 2-mile long nature trail (Henslow’s Trail) dedicated for hiking only. Lots of black berries were in fruition on this trail. Trail markings are excellent throughout and quite informative placards posted every so often. Rest benches are located about every half mile. The only small negative thing about the loop trail is that a major road (Book Road) cut through the 5 mile loop, which means one has to cross the road twice in order to complete a loop. But, a tunnel under Plainfield Road conveniently connects the two trails on either side of the road.
Springbrook Preserve is a gem of a place excellent for hiking, running, or biking. Best on a cloudy day to avoid the sun, though.Written 8 August 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Guided tours are available at little cost and is well worth the climb. Of course an elevator takes you about two thirds of the way but then you must climb metal stairs to the top. You pass the bells as you go, from very large to very small. The guide explains the mechanism that is the carillon as you go, stopping at the keyboard that is set in a small room. The top offers grand views of the surrounding area as you would expect from being a hundred and sixty feet off the ground. Hang onto your hat, it's windy up there. After about fifteen minutes it's time to head down and survey your pictures. A nice way to complement a day at the riverwalk.Written 13 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- tweety874Bartlett, IL302 contributionsTook our 4 year old granddaughter to see this play on a Sunday afternoon. The performance was only an hour which is perfect for this age group. She enjoyed it but had a little trouble seeing the fish as a person. Haha.
Only thing I would say is the time of the performance was not great. It was a noon. Hard when you are bringing small children as they get hungry and there is no food or drink allowed. A 10:00 or even 11:00 time would have been better. The prices for the performance where very reasonable.Written 28 February 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. That's when the forest floor is carpeted with Virginia Bluebells. If you get to experience this, you will never forget it. To get to the bluebell area, cross the bridge over the DuPage River from the parking lot. After the bridge, there is a dirt path on your right. Follow this back into the woods. Most of the bluebells are a beautiful lavender blue shade, but if you're lucky you'll spot some white and pink ones. Enjoy your time here!Written 9 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- James GOswego, IL1 contributionIve been here a few times. Beer is very good. Specializing in IPAs. I would like to see some more stouts, porters and German, but they found their niche. Prices are a bit on the high side. I like what they did for the outdoor drinking firewood and igloos. Found the bartenders to be approachable and knowledgeable.Written 30 December 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TravelSnob4allNaperville, IL78 contributionsAwesome show!!! The voices costumes, live pit and choreography were as professional as I've seen!
The "Off broadway" level of production in a professional yet intimate theater is worth every dollar spent!
