What travellers are saying
- EllenMedfield, MA91 contributionsMy review is consistent with experiences of other reviewers. It’s an interesting place to visit, but we were unable to see very much other than the walls of the castle and the chapel. It’s still very much a work in progress, but it’s free and you can walk along the grounds. There was very little open when we went except for the chapel. I would still suggest you just stop and take a look since it costs you nothing. Hopefully there will be more to come once restoration has occurredWritten 15 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sean b dublinDublin, Ireland3 contributionsI'm a regular visitor to the park, along with my 6 year old Jack Russell. All year round and sheltered down in the valley itself, good walks and exercise machines along the upper walks. It's very easy to find you have done a 4 or 5 km walk without realising it !

St Colmcille lived here , and there is St. Colmcille's Well , which is now housed In a locked chamber. Reputed to be where Swords got its name when St. Colmcille blessed the well of clear water, 'Sord' being the Irish for 'clear or pure'.
St. Columba's Church, Belfry & Round Tower
St. Columba's Church and round tower
The round tower is the surviving remnant of St. Colmcille's monastic settlement. The only remaining relic of the medieval church is its belfry, from c. 1300, which is open to the public in the summertime, when fine days afford the visitor a view of four counties from the tower's height. The original church is said to have fallen into ruin sometime in the seventeenth century. The new church of early Gothic style was built in 1811 on the foundations of the old. The Sexton's Lodge is also of architectural interest and was built in 1870. The body of Brian Boru was said to have been brought there in 1014 to be waked after the Battle of Clontarf, while on the way to be buried in Armagh. There os Sunday Service weekly at 10.00 . The church has a beautiful interior , sadly water damaged in some places . The stained glass window is breath-taking . If visiting in winter , wrap up well, as it is freezing . If you are interested in old churches , this is a must visit .
Old Vicarage
Dating from around 1730, the Old Vicarage is now an apartment complex with part of original building retained.Written 1 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Waited ages and paid a fortune for muffins only for burg of them to be stale. Every time I come the queue for teas and coffees takes about 15 mins. There’s no need for it.
Also, the waiver computers on the way in are regularly not working. This slows the whole entry process down.
Like others say, kids love it but it could be a lot better.Written 22 September 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Easy to book a tee time via the internet. The course was very accessible by bus. We used rented clubs and played 18. I had forgotten my glove but a patron Jimmy the bus driver gave me his glove (almost) brand new and a bunch of tees. The cost to play 18 with rented clubs was very reasonable.Written 13 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MrsWYN-RNorth Yorkshire, UK3,025 contributionsA typical modern shopping centre. Very popular and busy particularly on a Saturday. Plenty of shops, places for coffee and restaurants. Clean and bright. Note - No Marks and Spencers?Written 5 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Gary WRichmond, Australia885 contributionsGreat place to have a drink and watch football. There are several bars to choose from and the service is efficient and friendly. Music is played on alternate weekends.
Prices are reasonable and there is generally parking nearby. Atmosphere is excellent.

I was hugely impressed by the service, friendliness and quality of the food. Its as good as most 4 star restaurants. The lady president Martine Dennehan who would not have known anyone at our table came over to us and spent some time chatting. A lovely gesture, well done Martine. I attended a wedding reception here 40 years ago and it is great to see that the same high standards still apply today. Many thanks.Written 5 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- BellarusMoncton, Canada89 contributionsI visited with my parents as we had loved our last visit. We had their steak deal which was €25 for 2 steak dinners and 2 glasses of wine. They came with a side of chips. We also ordered onion rings to share that were delicious and my daughter ordered wings that she loved. The waitress told my mother to order 1/2 plate of the roast and good thing she did! It was still large. My mother enjoyed the roast! My father had salmon and enjoyed it as well. My daughter had the pizza and it was not great. It was the only thing we didn’t enjoy. My daughter finished off with their death by chocolate and was a big fan! Enjoyed our dinner!Written 27 June 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Kennygirl82Dublin, Ireland8 contributionsWe had such a lovely day in Roganstown today. Lovely tasty lunch in the bar.. followed by a massage and facial using Elemis products which are divine! One if my favorite things is that after having your treatments you can opt for a blowdry before heading home or on your night out. Feeling great, would highly recommend :)Written 24 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
