What travellers are saying
- Helen H2 contributionsI went with my dad earlier today and it was really informative and I learned a lot about what the tunnels were like when in use.
The guides Tish and Mal were friendly and full of facts.
Trish and Mal were also inclusive and understanding about people with special needs which I appreciated. Thank you for the visitors book you gave me, i will be taking it to school tomorrow.
I would recommend this for everyone.

- Gerben v1 contributionI have my own company for almost 25 years and I have seen the whole world, been to many different countries and places but Newcastle is the best place to be.
What I really like about this city is the friendly peolpe arround here.
You can sit at a bar not knowning anybody and people start talking with you and at the end of the evening you get a hug from somebody you have never ever seen or met before.
It is a fact that the wau you go up North, the moe friendly the become.
I really love this city and the people love live within.

- Lynn GWashington, UK103 contributionsWhat happened to Old Tyne Bridge?
The stone bridge was constructed but then damaged by flood in 1339. Repairs proved costly and took place in sections: it was not fully repaired, as a part stone and part wooden bridge, until the 16th century and was part destroyed by a great flood in November 1771.Written 5 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Of course the natural history displays are good too. Definitely worth a visit if you have some interest in the local area.
Added benefit: a lovely little cafe, with a deliciouls freshly made sandwich for lunch, happy noises from bunches of school childern, and it is FREE. (The suggested £5 donation is still great value.)Written 20 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BikkabessSt. Albans, UK88 contributionsAn interesting find and worth a visit to see the various art and crafts available. Lots on offer and worth a detour.
The goods are displayed over 2 floors with nooks and crannies to explore everything from pantings to sculpture, glass works to jewellery and more. Lots of works from many varied skilled craftspeople available to buy or just enjoy. No pressure and you can browse and enjoy.
Often they have exhibits or 'shows'. Regrettably we just missed one.Written 17 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
