The beach is really lousy. It is muddy, the water is hot, the sea is weird with enormous tidal difference, and still, I would on a blink, get back there to spend every afternoon. I think that the special atmosphere is due to the difference on the color of the sky and the sea... the sea is so much lighter that one can believe that the beach is inside a snow globe - only a sunny, hot snow globe. Love the place - still can't point my finger on why.

If you were able to get to Imbassuaba you are one of the warriors. It's a struggle to find and reach, since it's access is through a particular farm, but the reward is a paradise, completely desert and untouched. If you have plans to go to Barra do Cahy, make an effort to stop in Imbassuaba, you won't forget.

At high tide, this is a lovely quiet beach which is safe for young children. The beach is quite flat, meaning the ocean retreats quite a long way at low tide

First beach in Brazil, where the colonizers arrived. The place is beautiful but to access it one needs to drive miles and miles in a dirt rode. A 4 wheel drive vehicle is recommended. Parking costs currently 10 reais. There are only a couple of restaurant options here. Bring your snacks.
