Nandi Hills located around 1 hour drive from Bengaluru in early hours is an hill station with various view points & attractions around. The entry to hill station is restricted to 6 AM to 6 PM with entry being closed when the parking is full. We visited the Nandi hills for Sunrise but unfortunately it was too foggy & couldn't see any thing. Also, it's a lot of walk & crowded so not good for small kids. I would still want to visit for a full day trip to explore everything in and around.

Had been to this place in the weekend. It is nice place to trek with beautiful views of mountains and waterbodies around. Greenery around the place is enjoyable.

This place could be a half day program. From Bangalore Gudibande is 110 kms away on Bangalore - Hyderabad highway with a few kilometers deviation on the highway. Travel time is just around 2:30 hrs based on the traffic of the day. You need 1 :30 hrs to 2 hrs to trek up to the fort based on your fitness. Enjoy the view of the surroundings as you trek.

Sit at the summit and enjoy the cool breeze and the stunning view from there. There is a Siva Temple at the summit. This is an easy hillock to trek. There is a well laid steps all the way to the fort. Even elders, who are physically fit, can trek to this fort very comfortably. The view enroute to the fort is stunning. You will enjoy the trek for sure.

Please note that there is nothing available either at the foothill or at the summit of this fort. You need to carry even basic requirement like water alongwith you. I am not sure about the restaurants in the town. Even on the highway you need to come quite some distance to get a decent joint for snacks/food. Since we had been in a group we had made all facilities for our breakfast, lunch and water for drinking.

A very old temple whose history dates back to Ramayana times. This deity is called as Mukthi Ranga. This deity alongwith deities in Srirangam, Madhyarangam and Srirangapatna are consecrated on the same day by Brahma and Rishies. As per the history, Lord Sri Rama gave a sculpted Lord Ranganathaswamy vigraha to Vibeeshana for his support in defeating Ravana. Vibeeshana inturn asked his sculptors to make 3 more idols of the deity similar to the original he received from Lord Rama. The idol received from Lord Rama is kept at Srirangam. Other 3 deities are placed in other 3 places.

It is believed that after seeing deities in Srirangapatna, Madhyaranga & Srirangam on the same day one has to visit this temple at Chickballapura in the same masam (Hindu Month) to get mukthi. Hence it is called Mukthi Ranga.

The temple is about 5 kms away from the town. You can get poojas done in this temple. For food and anyother requirements you need to go to Chickaballapura town. You can go to the recently opened ISHA Foundation centre from here. It is about 10 kms away from this place.

It's a stunning sight to observe the Great Adiyogi statue against the backdrop of the Kailash of the South. The Adiyogi stands 112 feet tall, signifying the 112 paths he provided to achieve well-being and ultimate emancipation. It was good that they didn't allow automobiles beyond the Adiyogi bust. It just made the entire environment noise, dust, and clutter-free.

We trekked to skandagiri from mahasamsthana math side (three hills away) in hot summer. This will be a supurb trek after rainy season. Please note that it is not a well marked route and without mobile connectivity, so keep a track of your bearing. I will call it a mild trek, but a very long one. Nature is amazing and one need to figure out route based on general direction. Keep a compass or GPS, or you are sure to get lost. Also, there is nothing to eat or drink so carry enough food/water. The only place you can eat is on the way back at temple

An average place. The temple on top of the hill is the only attraction. Trek is not really a trek, its a walk on the ramp (ascending). Its not challenging (mild and kids can do it). If one is keen to visit the lakshinarasimha and lakshmi temples on top, then its worth going. Else skip the place.

The roads leading to the foothill is bad. One can even drive the call to the top (2km) for temple visit.

the beak like shape rock is cordoned off. One cant go till there, as some reckless visitors have created nuisance there.

Request to those who visit - Please keep it clean and its a holy shrine, respect the surroundings.

The fort looks deserted as very few people visit this place. The fort looked like well guarded with multiple layers of defensive walls. This concept of multi tier fort walls is seen in almost all the forts in Karnataka. By the view of the ruins at the base of the fort, it looked like the fort was breached (at least the lower half). The front gates are getting renovated and we can see a huge iron gate being put up.

Tip: As you climb up, you will find a deep gorge on the left. In case lucky, you will spot monitor lizard. Please maintain silence as you move towards it as slightest disturbance will make it hide.

We were on a day drive trip and spotted this place just by luck. Though there are timings, we were allowed to enter. There is a nominal fee of 10 Rs per head. The park is worth a visit.

We found many interesting tree species. They are well marked, though some boards are in kannada and we could not read. There is a nice place for kids to play. I would definitely recommend it if you have young kids.

Well maintained, neat and clean. Worth a visit if you are nearby, especially if you have kids or keen on looking at some tree species.

local is 13.402 N, 77.727 E. In google map it is marked as Jinke Vana Park
