I was here on Easter Sunday and it was great that there was an English language Holy Communion in the side chapel. The Swahili language service was taking place in the main part of the cathedral and was well attended.
It was so sad to see the memorial to the slave trade just next door and to know what terrible suffering took place there.

There are more interesting places (including ruins) in Zanzibar. I prefer ruins of older palace Mtoni which is not far away. If you visit Marahubi, take a stop in Mtoni as well.
