Very good hour spent at stump cross caverns today where the staff couldn’t have been more helpful!!

The caverns are beautiful and intricate ( we did the UV tour). Was chilly and wet down there so dress appropriately!

My one critisicm is how many people they seem to let down at the same time. When there’s no real passing points ( being in a cave crouched over 70% of the time) it’s slightly difficult to shimmy past people and large groups.

    Great day out

An interesting outdoor experience of a limestone quarry from the past but still a working quarry today.
Way more than we expected with great views from the top after walking the surprise path sculpted out of the stone.
You’ll not be too impressed if it’s foggy or misty though!

Just an amazing piece of civil engineering. These days, nobody would bother to add the "pretty" bits. Sad, but that's the way the world is now.

Also,, this is a good starting point for some serious hiking.

A delightful find. Modern interpretations of local rural scenes depicting the best of Yorkshire Dales in Claire Baxter’s artwork. Prints, originals and postcards are all available.
An exceptionally helpful lady manning the gallery who deserves a tourist information award..ha! A much enjoyed visit. We shall return.

Just been to see Educating Rita put on by Pateley Bridge dramatic society, the production was fantastic. If you are in Pateley Bridge and there is a production on it, will be well worth attending.

Drove the road by the side of the reservoir on a warm Autumn day Quite a lot of birdlife including herons and kites.with the tree colours at their best. I imagine the road cpould get tricky when busy at weekends.

Free car park so that's a good start then you have two choices Toft Gate and the Coldstones Cut I suggest visit both.
You come firstly to the limestone chimney remains and its tunnel that leads to the kiln.
Interesting info board explaining the workings.

We spent a good hour or so walking around Neil Simone’s Old Chapel Gallery at Main Street, Glasshouses, just outside Pateley Bridge. Yes, it has moved. Not knowing what to expect when we entered, we were immediately amazed by his imaginative work. Every landscape was so absorbing with Neil’s quirky and humorous imagination clearly expressed within every painting. Neil was there at hand to tell us how his own particular style developed.

You don’t have to be a professional artist to appreciate art. And you don't have to get wet on a rainy day in the Yorkshire Dales. So marry up these two simple thoughts and pop along to Neil’s gallery and I promise that you will leave with a smile and possibly a print or an original tucked under your arm.

Thank you for your time Neil and for a really enjoyable visit.

Wonderful independent shop tucked away in Kings Court Pateley Bridge. A real Aladdin's cave of unique art, ceramics, jewellery and fair trade woollen goods.
Very unique individual items. Lovely warm welcome from the owner Gill. Very enjoyable shopping experience.

A friend recommended we visit here. Lovely little town good parking. Oldest sweet shop worth a visit. Lovely pie shop and I’m not a pie fan but pork and Stilton pork pie was fantastic. Very pretty a few shops and pubs worth a stop there if your passing by.
