What travellers are saying
- zg6441 contributionsTook boat over with my tour group and walked the trail to Pitt Head and back. Views and wildlife are incredible. Be sure to bring snacks and water as there are no concession stands. There are restrooms at the beginning of the trail. Anyone with an average level of fitness should be able to complete the trail at their own pace.Written 16 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DotNelson, New Zealand21 contributionsA beautiful part of new zealand. Easy walk which will suit most ages and fitness.
The waterfall is stunning and the track in good condition even with one part having steps made following a slip but its still fine.
The cafe was unfortunately closed but we did sit at the tables having our lunch. Weka and Pukeko roaming around.
Even managed a quick game of Table Tennis.Written 14 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - marcy sVancouver, Canada674 contributionsWe stopped here for lunch while doing the coast walk from Anchorage Bay to Marahau. An idyllic little spot, very few people, gentle surf. I was constantly amazed by the lack of litter everywhere I went in Abel Tasman. Stillwell Bay is no different. A gorgeous little bay. There's a drop toilet farther along the beach if you need it. Just keep an eye on the water, as you can be cut off from the trail head when the tide comes in.Written 27 December 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lesley HSydney, Australia26 contributionsWe spent an amazing few days coastal rowing, kayaking and hiking in the Abel Tasman National Park all organised by Wilsons. . A big 'shout out' to Jack who was our guide/organiser. Couldn't have asked for a nicer, more helpful and fun guide. He made everything work seamlessly and when the weather demanded it , was able to flex and come up with alternative activities to make sure we had fun. 1 member of our group got sick on the 2nd day and the efficiency with which Jack & Wilsons organised her 'evacuation' from a remote beach was world class. They are a most impressive organisation and the 2 lodges we stayed in were lovely, comfortable and clean with great food. I was just sorry when our 5 day trip came to an end - could have gone for a few days longer as it was all so wonderful. Highly recommend this location and this company.Written 11 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- LRadfordPerth, Australia19 contributionsFab day, all members of my grouped loved it. Including the guide, we paddled out with 6 of us. Emily was a fantastic guide. Whole process was seamless, no waiting around or being unsure. Company provided wind breaker jackets and dry bags. Kayaked out to Split apple rock, had tea/coffee and a break on the beach. Our guide had picnic rugs, extra layers if we were cold, wind proof jackets etc felt like they'd thought of everything to give us a great trip. Timing was great, long enough to have fun and feel like we've had an experience without feeling tired/it going on for too long. Grateful for the hot showers at the end!Written 6 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Jillian B2 contributionsA great day!! Such a good way to spend the day on the water at Abel Tasman. Beautiful waters, beaches, great swim /kayak/hike spots. Our captain, Tim, was so nice, so knowledgeable on the area, and just a gem. Lunch (& beer/wine) was fresh, local and excellent too! Tim helped us spot all sorts of wildlife too - birds, seals, sting rays. We had a great day!! Would definitely recommend!Written 7 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Jan Tearle1 contributionBeginners navigation is a great course. It was fun and Laurie is a great tutor, always ensuring you understood the concepts, you had fun and opened your eyes to what those squiggly contour lines on the small maps actually looked like when you were out there in amongst the hills.Written 23 June 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Anne HTroon, UK4 contributionsWhat an amazing day from start to finish! I cannot recommend this tour enough - it was full of a wide range of info about this National park’s wildlife, geology, history and botany, in the most amazing setting. A great crew and a friendly and funny bunch of fellow tourists. We saw a shark, sting rays, seals, dolphins and some birds. Truly fantastic! (Also had lovely coffee and lunch provided.)
(We had also spent a day getting a boat to the park earlier in the week with another company and whilst it was good, this tour is much more informative, flexible and better value.)
