It is a sacred place for pilgrimage. Neat and clean, unlike many other temples, especially in eastern India. Did not face any problems of "pandas". However, the entry que which takes you right in front of the deity, was too long, and at one place had to climb down a very steep flight of iron stairs, which is very risky for elderly persons like me. The que for "Mukhdarshan" where you can see the deity from a distance was quite short and tolerable. No pushing and shoving by the volunteers faced inside the temple, like in Jagannath temple in Puri or Kalighat temple in Kolkata.

The fort ruins were a decent view, however the stay options weren't. The town is a little unhygienic and overall the experience was barely average.

It’s an excellent historical heritage. The architect of temple is captivating. An ancient temple but worth visiting.

The place is huge and one should have min of 4 hours if you want to visit and enjoy. It has steps and not recommended for old people who can't walk much / can't climb steps.

The travel by road and the surrounding. The temple premise and the approach with shops on either side are clean , well laid out by Indian standards ,especially near holy sites. The location on the banks of the confluence is bliss.Toikets must be better for sure and huge scope to improve. The banks were clean and expansion going on as it appeared because of some construction activities.

Old temple approx 25 to 30 Kms from Kolhapur .Temple is full of Pink Powder which is the favourite of the deity and is a standard offering .
Looks certainly beautiful externally . Very suffocating with small places to move inside.Your clothes can be stained Pink from the Powder which is everywhere on walls, foolr , ceiling etc

We went to Kolhapur for taking blessings of Mahalaxmi.Generally we dnt stay but we wanted to explore kolhapur so we thought of staying there.
We took a Public bus and got down at kolhapur bus stand .One auto guy approached us n took us to Yatri niwas as we didn't want hotel. But in my suggestion it is better u explore hotels or yatri niwas to get better deal.
We hired him to go to Jyotiba temple first he charged us Rs 200 per seat.We left by 5 pm.We took darshan and went to Yamai temple it is on the way.
Then at night we went to Mahalaxmi temple. As our stay was near temple so we waited.the temple closes by 1015pm .we had aarti and we left by 1030pm.

Next day ,we had breakfast.you get many options for breakfast like poha, upma, and aape .But it was ok kinda 20 Rs plate so .

We search for few auto to go to Kaneri math some said 300per seat.some said 1k n we were 4 adults 2 kids
So we finalised 1 auto at 1k.

The ticket was 150 for adults n 70rs for abv 5 yrs.
It is worth watching but I felt one shud go in evening or bit morning as it was very hot during 12pm . Place take aprx 2/3 hrs Max.detailing of statues are good.
Washroom not clean so bit disappointed.
And few attractions nearby with tickets.

Trip was good aftr that we went to Shahu palace it was also worth watching for kids.

And then returned home with memories.

The palace gives a great insight to the royalty of Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj's descendents. The durbar hall is magnificent. Only request to the authorities is to arrange a proper shoes stand at the entrance of the palace door, as shoes are not allowed inside. Secondly, the palace is old, no doubt, but a bit of upkeep /clean up/ re-paint will enhance the experience to a great extent.

Lovely atmosphere, chill, fog and the mountain ranges lush green. The dense growth makes it difficult to see the bison, but the sheer tranquility, birds sighting and chirping, butterflies galore makes it a wonderful journey even for kids.Tjecsightseeing towers and the breeze blowing into your face is memorable
