    Bamboo Bike Tour(Intramuros)
I have been longing to take this tour for so long, but it's always been pushed every time my trip to Manila is over, from organizing to choosing your company who is excited and able...
I've been following Bryan Benitez MaClelland the founder of Phil Bamboo Bike who conceptualized the whole idea of building a bike made of bamboo from a self sustainable material and helping the community by creating jobs, and so he collaborated w/ GK/Gawad Kalinga a nonprofit organization that promotes Social Enterprise... It took him years to perfect the concept/blue print and months to build a bike frame durable enough... It actually is a very long process not to mention waiting for the bamboo plant to mature... But here's what's best, the Philippines has a plenty and bountiful supplies will not be a problem...
Finally, I was able to squeezed it in... I've been to Intramuros several times and used to date Evangeline(my childhood sweetheart) in college/in the 70s, now you know how long it has been:)...
I already booked the full tour when I found out that there was a choice of(approx 5 to 6 hrs full & half tour 2/3 hrs.)
This is the most culturally enriching tour you'll going to have on mostly cobbled stones streets of Intramuros.
Intramuros is the walled city in the old Manila during the Spanish colonization of the Philippines in the 16th century... A home for Spanish elite & govt. oficiales, this fort was built to protect the Spaniards from eminent invaders... Over 300 years of Spanish rule brought so much Spanish/Latin influences...names, habits, food, etc., you name it, and it produced a lot of mestizos including myself(my great, great-grandfather was a Spanish/Catholic priest)....
An amazing idea and a great way to introduce and immerse in our rich history & culture. Because it is very interactive, it brings camaraderie and connection with fellow riders. Got to hang out at the shop w/ draft beer in hand & jolly conversation/s. You'll sure to make some acquaintances & friends.
Btw, A visit to nearby San Augustin church & museum a must.
    I highly recommend this tour.

Note: Bryan Benitez MaClelland, founder of Philippine Bamboo bike. Filipino/American from Connecticut. Spearheaded Social Enterprise thru collaboration with GK/Gawad Kalinga. Promotes sustainability, creates jobs and helps the Filipino community to be self-sufficient. He is truly an inspiration. Bambike has a shop in Intramuros, Manila They sell and rent bicycles/ In addition a 2nd branch just opened in Makati, "Poblacion tours" more like bar hopping in bike, he also opened his open bar called "Batala" that serves premium draft & artisan beers...
Offers/provides Eco-Tours. Bambike HQ, Plaza San Luis Complex, Real St. cor General Luna St. Intramuros, M, Intramuros, 1002 Metro Manila, Philippines
