Silver Strand Beach Oxnard, CA

Just park your car and plan to have hours of fun with your beach toys and riding the surf.

Anacapa Island Channel Islands National Park, CA 5.2 km away
#3 of 8 Nature & Parks in Channel Islands National Park
The tour the park ranger gave was probably only about 2 hours, and the island is small, but I'd definitely recommend visiting if you're ever in Ventura County area.
It was great to see the greenery restoration activity that is taking place due to the drought, as evidenced by few workers at a small greenhouse near the park ranger lodge.

It's a bit dicey to walk out on, but if you're a sure-footed type, the hike is worth it: surrounded by water on all sides - and just steps from the park.
Great park, fun equipment, and love watching people on the shipwreck.
