This is a truly beautiful place to walk, always as magic as the first visit, always as stunning. Go down on its shore or walk in it!

Went around 11am, early fall, end of September. Well greated at the check in post and at the paddleboard pick up. Clean and well maintained facilities where I made use of. Place was pretty much empty which made for a calme, easy to navigate paddle with no one in the way. Nice to have the place almost to ourselves.

There was a bit of branch debris in some parts that could be cleaned up, but it was easy enough to paddle through. We followed the circuit map provided and did a bit of exploring as well. About 3.5 kms. This is more like a slow, leisurely paddle, especially if it's crowded. You can cover the area in about 1 hour if you have a steady pace and don't take photos. 1h30-1h45 if you take your time and take in the surroundings. Which gives you better value for money if you take up as much of the allocated time.

This is a ski resort that is perfect for families with small kids. It is also located directly in the village of Wakefield. So, perfect for an after ski at one of the restau or at a pub.

Fairbairn House offers a hands on look at the local history of the Wakefield/Chelsea area developed along the shores of the Gatineau River. This historic house and grounds are managed by local history buffs who have devoted their time and energy to this vibrant display of days gone by. Old tools, barn, school house, gardens are all representative of the life and times of the early settlers to this region. Musical Mondays offer free entertainment in the outdoor amphitheater and there are hands on activities for children every Monday, Wednesday and Friday during the day. Bring along a picnic, take a walk in the pines along side the gurgling stream and enjoy the natural beauty of this educational, entertaining and engaging attraction.

I visited the Theatre Wakefield, presents Comedy: Then & Now, for the Sunday Matinee.. I wanted to see my Nephew Jeffrey who is one of the lead roles in "Love Potion" one of two short plays. Both fun, lively & entertaining. Live theatre is always great.. & the Wakefield Theatre group contributes a wide spectrum of excellence to the community.. The show goes on next November 30th & December 1st, 7 pm.. try to see it as you won't be disappointed..

I have never been skiing before so I wasn't sure what to expect.
The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable.
The hills were way bigger than I thought they would be. Having never skied before I felt like their 'bunny hill' didn't accurately prepare you for even the 'easy street run' but again it was my first time.
My husband and daughter ski often and they had an amazing time.
We had lunch upstairs in the restaurant which I found to be really great value for the money.
There was only one waitress working and she was extremely busy but each encounter we had with her she was fantastic.
We skied for about six hours that day so amazing value for the money!

Service was ok at the shop. Not much to it. Paddlers cross the road and use public dock though. I didn’t like that part. There were people sunning, having picnics on the dock and it was honestly hard to get around all the people to get in and out of the water. One family with small children moved when we put our boards in, which was considerate but took several minutes off the clock. It would be better for the shop to have a private dock or easy entry area. For that reason I would be reluctant to go again.

We took our group of daughters on a trail ride. Although I did not ride the girls and my sister-in-law all said it was absolutely beautiful. The surrounding were gorgeous - in fact I had one of the most peaceful naps with the windows open and the breeze blowing in while they were riding. The only thing I could recommend improving on is the friendliness and patience of the young female staff. A couple of them were great but I watched the lesson portion and a couple were less than patient with new or inexperienced riders. Also the young woman who was at reception could use a tune up in the customer service department.

The course is okay. It is in good shape. The area is scenic, but to my way of thinking, the course didn't take into account the topography of the area. It is an easy course to play for those who are not golf experts. It is preferred if you don't want a physically challenging course like the neighboring ones.

Not unlike my review of the Moulin Wakefield Inn, the Spa was the tale of two massages. My wife said it was one of the best massages she had ever had. My massage is in the bottom two of the worst massages I have ever had. I am not sure that the therapist I had was very experienced as it just wasn't very good.
