Golu Devata is a local deity and worshiped as God of Justice in and around Almora. Among several temples, Chitai Golu devta temple is the most celebrated temple dedicated to the deity, it is around 10 km from Almora. It is a unique temple with full of several sizes Bells and hand-written prayer letters. It is widely believed that devotees prayers are fulfilled by Golu Devata. When we visited at late afternoon in June’22, several devotees were present in the temple for darshan and puja. The ambience was serene. It was a blissful enroute visit to the temple.

Kumaon Regimental Centre is a well-maintained museum that showcases the glory, top level achievements and triumphs of the Kumaon Regiment. The museum has been built to preserve and exhibit the legacy and customs of the Kumaon Region. The collections included several photographs depicting many wars, participated by Kumaon Regiment. This centre also displays weapons used by the armed forces and enemies, medals and uniforms of the brave soldiers, the flags of rebels captured during battles, stone tablets depicting information about various wars and stories of the First and the Second Param Vir Chakra, which belongs to Kumaon Regiment, documents and pictures associated with Kargil War etc. The Kumaon Regimental Centre Museum is situated inside the Army cantonment area, one needs to enter the personal details at the gate. The entry fee is Rs. 75 per head, photography inside the museum is restricted. It was a worthy visit of the centre to know about the legacy of Kumaon regiments.

Dwarahat in local language means “Way to Heaven”.
Hundreds of temples are spread around in Dwarahat. These 11th century ancient temples spread around the city makes it a must visit even if you are around 100-150 km. in the region.
Architecture, Symmetry and location in the hills, will ensure an enriching day full of wandering around in the place.

Every time I visit Ranikhet, this place is a must to see. So on an average we visit this place twice a year at least and the excitement to go there never cease. This is a small temple and people residing in nearby villages have immense belief in the devi. The mata temple is surrounded by thousands of bells. It is very easy to reach if you are at Ranikhet by road. Also very nice Ram temple and Army post starts from the gate of the temple. From here you can also go and visit Chaubatia.
