We are a bunch of friends who go for an annual trip every year to the places where we haven't been and where we need to explore the places before taking family along. I hadn't even heard the name Bandhavgarh till some 3 years ago and as soon as I came to know about it, we decided we would give it a go - had to wait for 2 years for the pandemic to get over, cancel our booking once because of it and it's more than worth the wait! Got to know about Mukesh bhai (9425344631, mukeshmpsafari@gmail.com) from TripAdvisor forum and he did all the booking for us - safaris, resort, transport to and from Jabalpur, itinerary for Jabalpur and Bandhavgarh. Right from the time we landed in Jabalpur till we boarded the flight again, our trip was absolutely flawless - impeccable service at the Nature Heritage resort, 4 safaris in the forest (zones were decided by Mukesh bhai as well - we left everything at his discretion) and engaging one of the best drivers around. We had sightings of tiger in 3 out of 4 safaris - more than the sightings, the information/ facts about the forest and wildlife that we got were mind-boggling.

I visited Bandhavgarh National Park in June 2021 along with my friends and had a great time in the wilderness of Central India that too in the monsoon season. We had some amazing time where we were able to aight the Tiger and the Tiger cubs as well both in Magadhi zone but in different zones.

The jungle was lush green and absolutely beautiful, our bookings were made by TravelGleam Wild (Sameer Bakshi- 9829501729 , 7208099857) and must say their knowledge and insight about the jungle was exceptional. They knew all the tigers along with cubs present in the tourism zone and booked our safaris accordingly.

We had a great sighting of a female tiger in the thunderstorm one evening, a sight to behold.

Thanks team TravelGleam Wild for such amazing trip and memories for life 😊👍

Up on Bandavgarh hill is this amazing 35 foot long, 10th century statue of reclining Lord Vishnu with the Shesh Naag at his head. This important archeological monument has been restored in 2022 by INTACH.

A visual delight, surrounded by shaded trees, high up on the sandstone Bandhavgarh hill, this is a must visit in the Tala Zone of Bandhavgarh.

Nearby is the natural spring source of the Chakradhara stream which creates a fountain-like effect around the statue. The stream goes on to provide water through the year to most of Tala.

Don’t miss this important ancient monument during your visit.

While doing Game Drives ( Jungle Safari) in Bandhavgarh, our guide has shown us some ancient man made caves which showed human presence there in the olden days. We were told that there are about 39 caves in this national park, surrounding to the Bandhavgarh fort hill, in radius of 5 kms. The oldest caves appear to be as ancient as the first century A.D.

Panpatha sanctury is on the way to Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve. Though the chances of spotting a tiger are very slim in this area but you could easily spot some deer grazing on the sides, specially early in the morning.

Baghel Museum is located in Maharaja Kothi hotel complex. It is a historical place as this property belongs to past Maharaja of Bandhavgarh. During the days when Bandhavgarh was upcoming wildlife tourism destination, Maharaja Kothi was best accommodation in Bandhavgarh but later private hotels came & offered much better options and due to lack of renovation, Maharaja Kothi lost its status. Still when you visit this complex, you will appreciate its more than 400 years old trees etc. Baghel Museum is not promoted thus very few tourists visit this place thus management team is also reluctant to try anything more. Still if you have time, I will suggest to visit this place to understand the history of whole region. It is true that it could be much more better if management team pay some interest. Just check its visiting hours as gate keepers often lock the door and disappears.

This was absolutely a trip of a lifetime! With visits to 2 parks to see the tigers, we were blessed to see 23+ along with leopards, bears, and hundreds of birds. Guides are educated and make you feel safe in any environment. Resorts accommodations are lovely, offering wonderful food, and creative ways to experience the villages and people.

Most of all, I would highly recommend Vedant and his team for the most magical experience ever!

As I’ve returned home one thing sticks out most to me. Know you may go to see the animals, but the people will change your life.

A big thanks to Abhilash Kar and Kirti Ranjan Nayak for setting up the Corbett trip in Dhikala. They left no stone unturned to make sure that our stay was comfortable and we manage to get the best shot photographic opportunities during safaris. And last but not the least, some incredible tiger sightings with the help of the best guides and skippers goes a long way in making this trip a memorable one.

Just like most of the people, I did stumble across this shop almost accidentally. I wasn’t looking for anything particular, but I am glad that I discovered this quaint little shop, full of marvels.

The shop is flitting with handicrafts collected from across the country. Each one is hand-picked, exquisite and notable. I found it a tad bit pricey, however taking into account the effort that would have gone into collecting these artifacts, it is worth the price.

I purchased a terracotta bird caller, tried out a few times and was truly mesmerized with its efficiency in attracting birds. Unbelievable!!!

I did try out the rainmaker, it was simple bamboo filled in with some kind of seed and each time you moved it, it would produce sounds as if it was raining.

I do not recollect the name of the lady running this shop, however, what I do remember was she was extremely warm and affable. She explained to me about the various crafts and showed me what some of them did. There is a variety of crafts displayed ranging from handmade dolls, organic cotton scarves, jewelry, pottery, terracotta, wood, bamboo, cane, wrought iron, paper mâché, coconut products, ceramics, metal works, leather items, shell & stone things, hats, bags, toys, local art, paintings and much more. You would want to purchase each and everything available in the shop.

The shop supports indigenous arts and crafts and local artists. So, do your part and when in Bandhavgarh do purchase a few things from there and support the artists.
