We also walked around Watson’s Mill (the Long Island Mill until the name was changed by Harry Watson in 1946). It is open for tours but was not open on the day that we visited. However, it was still a beautiful location to visit. We purchased some books at the used bookstore across from the mill (no photo, sorry). It was run by the local Seniors’ Centre.

This was an amazing place! Unfortunately it burnt down earlier this month. Looking forward to when it rebuilds.

Just a wonderful place for your dogs to run, walk or swim freely!
Please make sure to pick up after your dog!

Worth going out of the way for, the staff are welcoming and knowledgeable and are happy to give you a tour of the house.

Entry is free, as is car parking and there is a fabulous secondhand bookstore on site.

The house itself is interesting and has lots of interesting artifacts with personal stories behind them.

Visit Watson's Mill on the same site, also free and well worth a visit.

The Manotick Farmers market was the main reason why my wife and I drove the 30ish minutes from Ottawa. The overall venue area is small and on the day that we visited there were 6 venders selling food & crafts. I tried a mild flavored spicy Jamaican pie, forgive me I don't recall its name but it was good. There was a spicier version that I will try the next time I am down there. There was fresh bread, wood products and in the building sharing the location a small used book store. The market is located across from Watson's mill and both are right on the bank of the Rideau River, a very picturesque location. It was a wonderful visit.

Great shop with a variety of interesting items including beautiful fidget rings and the glug pitchers. Friendly service.

I had my first "organic" pedi/mani at this spa. Beautiful spot is in the heart of manotick and is a smaller, quaint facility. Staff were very pleasant and Nicole provided excellent services. Prices are on par with most higher end spas. Would recommend giving it a try.
