- barnesdurranceLeeds, UK172 contributionsWhat an amazing tour. What our guide, Alan, didn't know about brewing wasn't worth knowing. He even gave me some tips about the very best pubs to go to in York. As you'd expect, a fabulous array of real ales to partake of.Written 4 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Beth C7 contributionsThe tractor driving experience was awesome! After explaining how to make the tractor go, my very patient instructor, Ben, guided me through driving the tractor through the farm, navigating fields and gates, a river and some sheep, before teaching me to hitch a trailer and drive and reverse with it attached.
I was a little nervous beforehand, but Ben is really patient and friendly.
I loved every minute!Written 31 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Duncan H93 contributionsWe visited on a Wednesday afternoon in October, having prebooked a tour on their website.
The tour set off promptly and was interesting and informative. It explained the history of the brewery as well as the brewing process, and what makes theakstons beer unique. All in it took about 45 minutes for the tour, before we headed back to the 'black bull in paradise' for an inclusive pint, 2 halves, or 3 thirds.
I had 3 thirds, so as to sample a few different ones, they had 10 of their beers on draft. There was also a perfectdraft machine which offered free samples of old peculiar their signature ale - a nice touch and surprisingly good given it came out of a tin 🤣, I will probably buy this in future for my PD machine. We had a look around the gift shop and had a couple of drinks before heading off.Written 18 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. From the history of gin through the story of how the distillery came to be followed by the actual tour and meeting Big Stan and Little Stan we were suitably entertained by Derek who is the co-owner and sole distiller, bottler, labeller and packer!
The spectacular finale was selecting our very own blend of botanicals and distilling a personalised bottle of gin with the promise that our carefully recorded recipes are kept and will be replicated should we wish to purchase another bottle in the future. . . What a service! Derek also whipped up a mean cocktail for us to enjoy while our pots were doing their job.
Highly recommended as an experience above and beyond a typical brewery or distillery tour and the added bonus of discovering the Spirit of Masham original blend gin which is inspired by their own Masala Chai Tea 😋
Our only regret is that the Corks and Cases shop, which is the retail outlet for the distillery, is closed on Sundays so we can’t pop in and meet Derek’s wife Carol who is the clearly loved other half of this successful partnership ❤️Written 13 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Good carpark, plenty of signs and notice boards and we found a very well appointed hide.

This was an ideal place for early morning walks with our dog, Glen (always remembering to clean up after him).
Beautifully maintained church building and graveyard, open to the public, with stunning architecture and windows. Wonderful views of the surrounding countryside from the paths around the graveyard.Written 20 January 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Purchased another picture of a Border Terrier which is so lifelike.

Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - James MScarborough, UK334 contributionsFirst visit to Masham in April 2023. It is a quaint and extremely pretty market town. The buildings are all stone and the town has a central market square. We had a look around some charity/antique shops, art shops and gift shops. It is also a great place to get an ice cream and sit in the square. There is not much to see other than the small shops and market square but it was a nice place to stop at whilst passing and have a walk around. There was a Co-op supermarket in the town and parking was available on street.Written 2 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kathryn ALeeds, UK14 contributionsA lovely morning spent at Brymor - excellent cooked breakfast, plenty of tea and a large child’s portion for my grandson! The staff are always so friendly and helpful.
There was a Halloween craft activity when we visited and a member of staff was supervising it was great fun and totally unexpected.
There’s a little animal farm and play area and fabulous shop.
Last but not least the ice cream - delicious!!
