Booked with Zanzibar yatch charter my sister’s bridal shower with a few friends. The yatch was extremely clean, food was amazing, the crew on board was amazingly friendly & welcoming . To top it up, we were offered complimentary cake for the celebration.

    I recommend 100% 😍

I visited Zanibar at the end of June and was warned by the owner, Chris, that the fishing was poor at this time of year, nevertheless I booked a half-day trip. As I was fishing alone, I booked the smallest boat Suli Suli, to keep the cost down. Chris allocated Pieter to captain the boat and he also stressed that the fishing was not so great and trolling would most likely be un-productive and that jigging or popping was the best bet. Pieter proved to be a highly competent captain and fisherman – he was spot on the trolling was a waste of time but jigging and popping did get some interest. We saw small tuna chasing bait fish, we nearly hooked mahi mahi on poppers and a small amberjack came to the boat from jigging. There were some fish, they were difficult to hook but the boat and crew certainly had the experience and equipment to catch them. I would certainly recommend these guys and at a better time of year I am sure the rods would be bending from multiple hook-ups. A very good rating is based more on the quality of fishing in June rather than the hard work of the crew.

We did dive with my daughter 11 years old, this was first time in open water and this was very important, so we got very friendly and professional organisation and help, and we very pleased and grateful for this.

This company offers a variety of diving sites to explore near Nungwi including Memba island . Service is excellent and equipment is more than adequate! Most of the days, the group is between 3 to 8 divers, so we get good service

We booked through Star Tours Nungwi (there are 2 similar sounding companies - check the website link above to confirm the website for the one this review is about).

We arranged to go snorkeling near Mnemba Island. We were collected from our hotel Kibanda Lodge by one of the two owners Hamici and one of the boat crew, Mohammed.

We had arranged a private boat for a family of 4 for 200 USD. It was a few minutes walk to Nungwi beach and they fitted us for snorkeling kits at a hut next to Mamma Mia restaurant (see picture attached).

We then got onto the boat - the Pufferfish 3 (pic attached) with Mohammed and the Captain Fakhir. First we went to see the dolphins which were 5 mins from Nungwi beach (pic attached), then we went snorkeling near Mnemba Island (you can't visit on a boat as it's a private island).

We were then taken to a beach for lunch, we had asked for vegetarian food and the meal was wonderful, absolutely incredibly delicious vegetarian curry and rice with fruit after. It beat out expectations! See pics.

Then back to Nungwi beach. We were collected at 9am and dropped back at 1pm. We could pay with card or cash. The crew were excellent and we had such a fun time, highly recommended!

The highlight was lunch and the dolphins. Mnemba wasn't too busy actually, around 10 boats when we arrived and 2 when we left.

There were life vests too on the boat, the kids ones were fine, the adults were hit or miss, but we didn't go too far from shore, we could always see it. Was so much fun on the boat speeding along and we felt safe the whole time.
