The path is paved with asphalt and about 9' wide from the parking area to the observation platforms at the top. There are several information boards on the path. Rest areas are along the path. No shade, no water, no services. Great views of the ocean, surrounding area and the lighthouse.

A great hike for beginners who are only visiting Honolulu for a short time, as this doesn’t take long and is close to Honolulu city. This is a jungle trek with a chance to experience the lush green forests of Oahu while still on a relatively easy path (note it is uphill, but still would be doable by most ages and abilities). The mile long hike took us about 90 mins in total (there and back). Do douse yourself in plenty of mosquito repellant as we got bitten a couple of times. The greenery along the way are as good as the waterfall at the end. For the more adventurous, bring swimwear for a dip in the pool under the waterfall.

I don't hike very often and this hike definitely pushed my abilities but it was totally worth it. The views at the top of the trail were beautiful and it was cool to see some of the bunkers that were left.

The good part is that there is lots to do in and near Waikiki Beach. Yes it's a tourist town, but then again there are great shops, restaurants, bars and music everywhere. If you're staying a couple of blocks from the beach then be prepared for lots of noise. This is not a quite get-away type place, it's busy, loud with lots of energy.

We rode up to the lookout via Uber and brought some eats with us to enjoy as we watched the sun go down over Oahu far above the island. You could see everything on the west side of the island...Waikiki, Diamond Head, Honolulu.

We strolled here from Waikiki beach one evening and found it has such a nice relaxed atmosphere, much less crowded than Waikiki beach and more a place where locals gather rather than tourists - for family picnics and barbecues, jogging and yoga, and live music - it was a really nice atmosphere in the park and beach with a nice sunset view.

My husband and I were married on Magic Island. It was beautiful and such a nice location. We met friendly locals as well and were within close distance of everything in Waikiki still.

Renewed faith in my countrymen that when the time comes to stand up and be counted they will do the right thing. A thankfulness that the 21 years I served in the military were a continuation of their legacy

What a wonderful place to stop and watch the world go by. It can get very crowded as there are sheltered areas for children to swim and play

By taking this walk in the morning you will experience Waikiki 'waking up' for the day. A great and relaxing way to get your ten thousand steps in tor the day.

A good sized park located between Waikiki Beach and Diamond Head. There are frequently displays, free Hawaiian Band Concerts and today the Waikiki Art Fest, Zoo Wall Art and the Na Hula Festival all on the one day.

This was a fun shopping area to explore. There are some chain stores, but also many local stores. We found lots of gems in this shopping center that we had been looking for.

In front of the Hawaii State Supreme Court is a bronze statue dedicated to the unifier of the Hawaiian Islands: King Kamehameha I. Because of him, the islands came under one unified rule. He did this in 1810 following years of conflict. The site of the battle that helped King Kamehameha I conquer Oahu is located at the Nuuanu Pali Lookout. Interesting of note, the first statue was shipped from Europe was lost at sea near Cape Horn. A second statue was created and is the one seen in Honolulu. However, the one that was thought lost appeared and is located on the Big Island. Two other statutes were created and can be found in Hilo and in Washington, D.C. The court building is located across the street from the Iolani Palace.
