We took the self-guided audio tour. It only took us abut an hour or so but we learned a lot about Hawaii’s history. The museum staff help guide you from room to room and were available and very willing to answer any questions. Highly recommend this as a nice cultural break from the noise of the beaches in Honolulu/Waikiki.

Definitely worthwhile for learning about Hawaii. Offers in-depth understanding of the Polynesian people who settled here over 1,000 years ago, and describes the transformation of life on the islands down to the present day. Located not far from downtown.

We went planning on eating lunch there after a bit of research, I did not see bad reviews, but don't depend on the restaurant, not many menu items were available, my burger was very disappointing, bottled beer was very pricey.

I never imagined that I would go inside a submarine. It was amazing to see and the cramped conditions that the sailors lived in. It was a bit claustrophobic, but very interesting as well.

Wow! So glad we took the time to visit this museum. The sheer number of exhibits and the thoughtful layout makes for a superbly interesting experience. Add to this the professionalism and knowledge of our guides Eddie & Dana who both have a wealth of experience in law enforcement and you have all the makings of the best Police museum we have visited anywhere in the world. Thanks. Tip, Parking available in public metered stalls in the underground Police garage off Kealamakai Street just behind the Transit centre.

This place is amazing! It is the only museum type cultural attraction that is walking distance - so close to the beaches- it's right there! Great place to go when you don't have tons of time- you could view the place in 30 min or linger for an hour! Great for solo or fun for kids. I am so glad I didn't miss out on this place!

What's really neat is how authentic it feels and the owner is warm and wonderful! You can experience a casual, self-guided tour through the gallery and view tons of gemstones, pearls, coral, rocks etc! There are some exceptional and uniquely ancient pieces in the collection that will blow your mind! To top it off, you can peruse the small store of on-site made jewelry. The prices are very affordable and the range includes gift worthy items and fine jewelry to treat yourself. (I purchased authentic gold/pearl drop earrings and I treasure them)! The thing about the jewelry they sell is it is seriously the ONLY place on the island you can shop in peace for yourself or gifts- you can linger and enjoy without being hassled- and with crazy good prices!

Don't miss this stop! It's not like any other attraction on the island. It's well-loved, and though not fancy- it's absolutely worth a visit!
