These caverns are spectacular. This cave system us forests of stalactites and stalagmites as well as what appear to be waterfalls but made of stone. There is a reflecting pool that looks exactly like a mirror with thousands of spikes coming out of it. This place compares favorably to some of the great western parks in terms of extraordinary geology. It is also an easy one hour walk on a smooth walkway and lighting which is just right. This would also be a great place for kids of any age.

The Stony Man Hike was the last one we did in a day which we also did the Rose River Falls Loop and the Hawksbill Summit. This hike was very easy especially compared with the other two. We went to the first overlook and arrived in about 15 minutes. The view of the valley is great and you can also see Skyline Drive winding through the park. This is a great hike that anyone can enjoy in Shenandoah National Park.

Excellent Museum and the best restaurant in Luray. Highly recommended.
We had the burgers, BLT, and Steak and Cheese sandwiches. All were large and the best tasting we've had in the Luray area. We've been coming here often for 15 years, and are glad to have discovered this restaurant. The ladies in the kitchen and at the counter are the friendly, quick, and helpful. We will be coming to Cooter's many times in the future.

Horses were old and mellow. We had a great time going through the woods at a slow pace. It was fun to experience these majestic animals. We were able to pet them beforehand and I scratched one and almost put it to sleep. There were about 8 in our group, so it was a nice and small group.

Very impressive private collection of classic cars and wagons. We had a great time exploring and learning more about the history of these cars.

Paved walking/biking trail through the town of Luray along the river. Beautiful views while you have a safe walk. The kids really enjoyed it too!

First...it's not the big city zoo's....and to me that is fine. Most of these animal's are rescued animals that were pets. The owner knows alot about the care of animals that were pets and what would happen if you put these once pets in with wild animals...or in with other pets...it would not be a good thing.
My wife and I took the Discovery Tour and we were so glad we did. The reptiles on display is stellar because there are some I have never even heard of or seen before at big zoo's. We love being able to ask questions about the animals and getting answers where as at some bigger zoo's no one is found to ask.
It was so cool to pet a porcupine named Cuddles....feed Capuchin monkeys and a Lemur....be sure to see the Condor (a big and beautiful bird). Won't forget this place.

We did two tastings- one for the wines and one for the whiskey. Fred was incredibly knowledgeable and educated us on the process in which whiskey is made. My husband bought two different bottles of whiskey and he is excited to make some old fashioneds!

Stopped here twice during our stay in Luray. Barkeeps and other patrons very friendly. Brews were excellent. Wish the brewery was closer to our home!

We stayed in Shenandoah for the night and hiked to Dark Hollow Falls and Stony Man Summit. The park is a beautiful drive with scenic overlooks around every turn. The visitors center had a nice display and a walk through information tunnel. The cancellation stamp was easy to find, and there was a store next door for any forgotten supplies. Bathrooms were very clean as well. Everyone we encountered was very polite and informative.

Very interesting museum and out buildings. The only original building to the property was the farmhouse, with the back portion of the house much older than the front portion. I was wondering if the back portion of the house originally was a log cabin covered with wood siding when the front section was built. That happened many times when a house was enlarged.
The barn was very large, but only a small portion of it was used for display. The blacksmith building actually had a blacksmith working, which was nice. The grounds were well laid out for displaying the buildings.

Just enjoyed our second visit to the Warehouse Art Gallery which is an awesome combination of sight and sound! If you have ANY interest at all in any of the Arts, do yourself a favor and visit this wonderful Gallery! There is no charge to get in and browse around but there is a jar for donation at the door. PLEASE throw some money in when you exit so this Gallery can keep going. It's a VERY cool place!
